I didn't babysit....but I agree, some are forced to....
That changes when people start caring more for the kids, the teachers, the schools...and less about "test numbers"....

From what I see with my grandkids, much is about teaching to pass the mandated state test.

I can understand why people want to get away from the inner city when they have children. I feel bad for the kids in the Projects that have interest and motivation, but are surrounded by a group of dumbasses that have no direction and no desire.
There are Lots of options today, no matter where you live. But they don't come to you... (well, in most cases:)
No excuses these days when it comes to opportunities....

Stop being so blatantly stupid Mason, everyone knows you made this post to which I responded to.

Are you saying that where you live they bus kids out of your school district?

where I grew up I had to ride the bus for 45 minutes to get to the ONLY school.........all of Boston was a single school district.......kids were bussed from a predominately black area within the school district to predominately white areas in the school district........the same was true of all bussing........they didn't bus kids from Boston to Worcester......

Dayum.

I only had to take the bus when my mom or dad had to work. And it was a local school bus.

That was the central coast in the late 80s. Obviously not Boston. But 7 - 9 was Roosevelt in downtown and I don't even recall a bus system. I rode my bike or skateboard most days.
