Well, you should worry more. I know some of the places I go to do side work at are not particularly safe, and I tote a pistol when I go, with good reason. I'd prefer a shotgun, but that's too obvious and would upset the uninvolved.
When I go to an apartment complex and (all in the middle of the day):

The police are removing dead bodies from another apartment...
The FBI, US Marshalls, police, etc., are there to arrest somebody...
Another maintenance guy and his helper are shot dead because somebody is looting their truck...
A gangster gets mad at another maintenance guy for painting out their graffiti...

Or anything like that, I worry I might be next, and that isn't going to happen without a serious fight.

I don't want your pistol. I don't want your shotgun. I don't want your hunting rifle. I want anything that should be in the hands of soldiers (which they receive much training to use) off our city streets. I want the age of purchase raised to 21 for all firearms and I want a national registry like we do when we buy a vehicle.

That's pretty much it.

It's more of a culture war the wing nuts are waging right now. When they say, "free speech" - what they mean is they want the right to incite riots at Capitols and to say, "nigger", and "faggot".

When they say they want, "religious freedom" what they mean is they want the right to exclude gay people from society.

It's a culture war, and they know they're losing, thus the false excuses, such as, "the left made us commit crimes".
