I dunno... I guess when I think of vacationing in Mexico, I don't normally think about sitting around watching someone's front door waiting for them to emerge. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

If you're at someone else's house the home across the street is usually visible or we might bump into your wife, while she's working the streets.

you obviously have never spent any time in a Mexican colonial city. When you are sitting around at houses in MY town, the only thing visible is the pools and the gardens. NOBODY lives in the front of their houses next to the street. Maybe in suburban USA... but not here.

well, first... I didn't have GUNS... and secondly, I was polite and had my customs papers and my passport and visa and my two dogs, and they always checked the documents, and saw the dogs, and cheerfully waved my through.

actually... they DID try to shake us down while my wife was driving in Tampico... the cop told her she had run a red light - which she clearly hadn't - and he told her to pay a 1000 peso fine on the spot. She told him that she had not run the red light and that she would pay a fine to his superior at the police station but not to him... he let her drive right on by. Tough gal.

The honest to gods truth is that there is not one single southern conservative Republican that is a viable candidate outside of the south. Perry, Gingrich, Paul, Cruze, etc, are utterly unelectable outside of the south (which only represents about 25% of the electorate). The GOP has only two viable candidates for 2016 POTUS. Both are Governors of Northern States. Both are pragmatic establishment GOP conservatives (not southern reactionaries).

#1. Chris Christie.
#2. John Kasich.

And that's all the GOP has.
