If not Hillary, who?

NO-NO Maineman
Don't run away, again; you slimy pieced of shit, gun smuggling, liar. :)

if you want to refer to my taking a gun across the border in Brownsville for the protection of my family as we drove through a lawless and corrupt state of Mexico as "smuggling", you are free to do so. I chose not to characterize my actions as smuggling but merely taking a necessary precaution in an area where all reports were that the law enforcement there would not only not provide any security, but, in many instances, were assisting lawless men in perpetrating crime. I have always been up front in admitting that I did that. Now that I have arrived at our ultimate and safe destination, I have worked with the local authorities and have legally registered my side arm and will keep it inside my domicile as allowed by the Mexican constitution.

It is when you continue to call me a liar that I do and will take issue. I have not lied about anything. If you wish to call me a gun smuggler, go for it - but it really is getting kind of shopworn at this point, don't you think? If you call me a liar I will respond and say that, by continuing to say that I am a liar, it is you who are telling the lie.

If you can refrain from besmirching my integrity, we can both discuss issues in an atmosphere that is devoid of personal insult. Your choice.

Are you denying it was a crime, Commander?

not in the least... and it is a crime that I would commit again if the safety of my family were on the line again.

As I said... I never lied about it to anyone... not even to Mexican Customs.

I find it hard to believe that you would care so little about your family's safety that you would not take all necessary precautions yourself.

So... because you quote iolo on guns, am I to assume you share his position that no sane person would want to possess a gun?

If not, please explain why you quoted him.... or will you quickly delete that post like you kept doing last night?

if you do believe that sane people can own guns, why don't YOU enlighten him?

I own a gun... and I consider myself sane.

I chose to avoid the hassle and felt that I would be able to accomplish the registration once I arrived which was a correct assumption.

Of course you do.

So "hassle" is a valid reason to flout the law, in your estimation?

What "hassle" did you avoid?

How did you eventually explain the presence of a weapon that had no record of being legally imported?

from discussions with other armed expats in my area, I learned that the process here was not as "bureaucratic". I chose that route. Your choice might have been different. SO be it. It's all water under the bridge at this point, isn't it?

and I look forward to your post enlightening iolo.... since you seem to think that is so important, I urge you to follow through.

You chose to flout the law of a nation whose people you claimed to respect because you thought it was too much trouble to comply?

Interesting.

So you're asking "What difference, at this point, does it make"?

that is correct. I am now in accordance with the laws of Mexico. That's a fact.
