If Trump is removed it will more likely be for requesting election assistance from Ukraine, but it will be almost impossible to get a 2/3 vote in the Senate to convict.

I don't think it could be obstruction of justice when it occurred because there was no investigation or justice being pursued. I don't think you can obstruct justice in advance.

People are assuming the Senators are on Trump's side. They are as embarrassed as most Americans are and have the fact that he took over most of their power to deal with too. McConnell has had to deal with people making fun of him sucking up to Daffy. The Red Senators may see this as a shot at getting even and getting their power and prestige back. If they have a more reasonable replacement, they may gleefully vote the crook out.

When you must add the qualifier "IF"......you have already lost the argument. Truths are never "IF"s.....truths are backed by documented fact in evidence...such as the actual transcript of the phone call, and the actual treaty between the USA and the nation of Ukraine signed in 1999 that endorses co-operation in criminal investigations between the 2 nations....there is no quid pro que.....there is treaty agreement. "IF" is shot down in flames before it leaves the runway. As we speak.....the DOJ is investigating who leaked the information to the supposed whistle blower..that is the crime in question.

Yes it is illegal when the person would harm their campaign. That makes it a campaign contribution which was not reported and way over over the limits. Ask his lawyer who sits in jail for making the payoffs.

I certainly don't agree with most of the Trump haters on JPP who claim it is "extortion," but the claims it was a treaty obligation are over the top. And both sides make claims of treason without knowing its meaning.
