If Trump Didn't Incite The Capitol Attack....

It's clear that Republicans are divided over Trump. A house divided against itself cannot stand. I'm only curious to know what Trump supporters think of Republicans who voted against Trump, as well as those who voted to acquit Trump while still condemning him as guilty.

Here you are again...trying to be all smart and shit.

You don't get it, do you? Trump wasn't the cause, he was a symptom, and you little maggots will never understand that.

John Brown was inciting a rising to overthrow racist slavery, Trump an insurrection to overthrow democracy. It's a question of which you prefer really.

One could see certain parallels between the civil rights protests of the 60s and BLM of today, at least in some ways, and even a similarity to the Boston Tea Party.

John Brown the (by today's standards radical Leftist) abolitionist of the 1850's and 60's. In fact, a radical Leftist organization calling itself the John Brown Gun Club exists today...

Coast to coast armed and crazy radical Leftists who are organized like "militia."

So.... who have they attacked? I'll wait.

They are a modern day example of insurrection waiting to happen. Right here on this very board many Leftists, Progressives, and Democrats decry how "Right wing militias" are the greatest threat to the nation and represent a huge threat of insurrection. Yet, they ignore totally similar groups on the Left like the one I presented.

I used them (and they are hardly the only one on the Left) because of their name linking them to the infamous insurrectionist John Brown of the immediate pre-civil war era.

So lets wait then. How would that be. That would stand in stark contrast to the nutters on the right who have already conducted their insurrection. The name has nothing to do with the fact that Brown was an insurrectionist. It's about Brown being an armed abolitionist. We don't ignore them. They simple don't exist. How many left wing groups are on the FBI list of terrorist organizations? Wanna compare?

Sure. But the "nutters on the right" didn't conduct an insurrection. They held a riot that lasted a few hours in which 4 of them died and a police officer later died from unrelated medical issues at a hospital. Brown took over a federal armory. He armed his followers who were going to march with him on the capitol. The US Marines showed up to stop him. Brown fortified his position at the armory and a firefight ensued. Brown eventually surrendered.

Now, I might buy "insurrection" on January 6th if that crowd was armed to the teeth and using their weapons to take the capitol by force. Storming a police line is nothing new. Rioters do that all the time. Sometimes they are successful in breaking it. Insurrections last days, weeks, or are successful. Riots last hours and are over.

I don't give two fucks what you want to call it. They invaded the capitol building with the intent of executing government officials and preventing the certification of an election. You can call it a May Day Parade for all I care. The rioters are traitors, as is anyone who provides them aid and comfort. End of story. They only failed in their goal because they were too busy posting their mugs on Instagram.

I am very familiar with the raid on Harper's Ferry. Brown was an abolitionist first and foremost. He was militant.

The rioters were rioters. Neither you nor I can know what their individual intentions were. For all we know they were the same sort of knuckleheads that show up at Leftist protests and riots and just wanted to smash stuff. I know that in the case of the dude with the horned helmet, he did the same thing in Arizona at the capitol about a month earlier and there when legislators showed up to talk, he and they talked. Then the police arrested him and charged him with trespass...

Good. Then you know what an insurrection looks like. A more recent version would be:

The infamous CHOP/ CHAZ in Seattle.

Yes, we do know what their intentions were, because THEY TOLD US. Since you continue to defend them, I assume you are a traitor as well. Guess I'm not shocked.

CHAZ was a bunch of fucking idiots. They were not insurrectionists. I don't recall them attacking a capitol building. What's your point?
