Being the richest country in the world doesn't mean we have unlimited amounts of money. We have trillions in debt and trillions in unfunded liabilities. There's already a long thread on age and S.S. When it was created life expectancy was much shorter than today. Thus people are going to have work longer and delay receiving benefits or else there will be massive benefit cuts to the program. People started noticing how much we opened our markets and how little a lot of our trade partners opened theirs. Using tariffs as leverage to open up markets is an effective tactic. As for Russia, if we trade more with them now, that doesn't strike me as bad as long as they open up their markets to us.

There are most certainly elements of the left that want to ban and confiscate guns. The gun control lobby wants this, particularly Bloomberg and his cronies. Bloomberg financed a lot of the Democratic campaigns in Virginia recently, and they've been attempting to pass a variety of very broad gun laws.

Do you know who determines trade pacts? it is corporations. They are at the table. Corps have managed pacts from Dems and Repubs. Everyone talks a fair trade, but Corporations have the trade they want. Do Trump and Ivanka make their overpriced crap in China and 3rd world shops? Of course, they do.
