The funny thing is, I and many other people had been talking about reciprocal trade long before Trump. It first started getting discussed a lot in the late 2000's. People started noticing how much we opened our markets and how little a lot of our trade partners opened theirs. Using tariffs as leverage to open up markets is an effective tactic. As for Russia, if we trade more with them now, that doesn't strike me as bad as long as they open up their markets to us.

Tell that to the people living in DC and Chicago who, up until Supreme Court intervention, could not get handguns. Tell that to the people of Virginia who may soon face a very broadly defined assault weapons ban that encompasses all semiauto weapons. Tell that to the people who have had their guns taken away due to accusations made against them and red flag laws weaponized against them.
There are most certainly elements of the left that want to ban and confiscate guns. The gun control lobby wants this, particularly Bloomberg and his cronies. Bloomberg financed a lot of the Democratic campaigns in Virginia recently, and they've been attempting to pass a variety of very broad gun laws.
