Yes, local eggs. The maintenance guy at the public school where I teach. He won’t let us pay him more than $2.50 a dozen … we’ve tried. Like every local person who has chickens here, he doesn’t vaccinate.

Also a couple from church gives us a couple dozen every three weeks or so. With the onset of spring-like weather everyone’s hens are laying very well.

About 2/3s of our "gun deaths" are elderly white male suicides which, IMO, is realated to "our terrible healthcare". Specifically, terrible mental healthcare. These "gun deaths" are primarily committed with a single shot from a 9mm handgun.

Consider that Canada has assisted suicide. Most US states do not.

To be eligible for medical assistance in dying, you must meet all the following criteria. You must:
  • be eligible for health services funded by a province or territory, or the federal government
    • You may also be eligible if you meet your province or territory's minimum period of residence or waiting period.
  • be at least 18 years old and mentally competent
    • This means being capable of making health care decisions for yourself.
  • have a grievous and irremediable medical condition
  • make a voluntary request for medical assistance in dying
    • The request cannot be the result of outside pressure or influence.
  • give informed consent to receive medical assistance in dying
Generally, visitors to Canada are not eligible for medical assistance in dying.
