What songs nearly bring you to tears? For me, 3 are "Nessun Dorma" sung by Pavarotti, "Neither One of Us" by Gladys Knight & the Pips, and "I Would Be Good" by Alanis Morissette. :)
 
In the Hall of the Mountain King is the first heavy metal song written in 1875 by Edvard Grieg. I think it's intense for its time.

 
Maybe I should clarify. I refer to songs that are deep, soul searching, touching emotions. Melancholy at times, deeply thought provoking...brings a tear to the eyes. AMERICAN MADE SONGS. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Everything I posted met your original requirements in my world. And, yes, one of mine was Canadian, another is Australian.
