Why are so defensive? I am a datacomms engineer for my sins. Zappa has already said what he does, so what's the big deal?

YOU and zappa are making this a big deal....i'm trying to debate the issues with you, YOU bring up my profession, then i joke about my job and you get your panties so twisted your face is turning blue....

why is it you can't stick to the issues and have to frequently discuss my personal life?

Why do you have to be so anal? Nobody really cares that much, you always have to turn a drama into a crisis.

If he can be charged under the Espionage Act it does not rip apart our Constitution...

actually, yes it does. this is a power that was supposed to be handled by the courts, yet they have failed miserably. What they have allowed to happen, just letting cops or DAs do, is for them to just arrest for anything and let the courts sort it out. All the while, this costs the citizen money, money that he/she most likely doesn't have to begin with. It's economic terrorism at it's core.

so how do you propose courts bring people in to court?

Wait a minute-Assange knowingly received stolen secret government documents and published them- If the DOJ is able to show this is an act of espionage then he should be charged. Free speech is not a protected right in that circumstance.

it could be protected...i think its the public importance/concern exception (i don't remember if that is the right name for it though)

not likely to apply here though

congress shall make no law.....

too hard to understand?

it isn't about not letting cops bring people to court, though i suspect you knew this. It's about overusing qualified immunity and not holding police responsible for unlawful arrests.

actually, i wasn't sure what you meant...

i have no doubt that some police actions go unpunished, but not all do....i also know some criminals go unpunished, though not all do

it is an imperfect system, however, it is the best system in the world and we continually try to make it better....
