Is the Civil Rights movement what turned the South Republican for 50 years..

you were the guy who made the claim....not me. If you couldn't back it up, maybe you shouldn't have made it in the first place.

But the claim is true; I just choose not to argue semantics with dishonest dunces trying to re-invent their own version of history for partisan political purposes.

I am glad I amuse you. Blacks have been voting democratic solidly for a half a century. That's a fact and you know it.

I don’t find YOU amusing; but your dimwitted false claims even when you are slapped with the facts, links and historic record. You still desperately parrot your DNC spoon fed talking points.

The fact is that for MORE than nine decades they have been voting for Democrats. But the other FACT is that they were prevented from voting in any significant numbers due to the efforts of racists within the Democratic Party.

These facts refute any mythical claims that Republicans somehow “lost” the black vote in 1965 or that the equally mythical claim that racist Democrats joined the Republicans thus giving Republicans their “presumed” Southern advantage.

My question is: beyond continuing to employ the southern strategy, what do you intend to DO about that?

I intend to keep defending the truth. Just as you are apparently determined to keep avoiding it.

if the claim was true, please list the many klansmen of whom you speak.

What an amusing strawman and typical leftist canard; the party of angry white men. You just can't help yourself when it comes to the empty headed parroting of DNC talking point can you?

I have never claimed that blacks did not move to the democratic party until after '65. I have claimed that the white racist exodus FROM the democratic party started then.

Yet so many former KKK members died as Democrats.

if this was not what you meant to say, please say so, and then retract it. If it was, please list those many former KKK members.

It really is that simple. Either stand by your words or run away from them.... your choice.

But they didn't; they remained Democrats as the facts would indicate.

I am not talking about a handful of legislators, I am talking about the people who live in the south... the same people that used to deliver the south to the democrats, now are reliably delivering it to the republicans.

I listed them; yet there are so many more that cannot listed because they didn't serve in National politics but were more the "local" variety of politician. And no, they didn't join the Republicnarty either.

But do continue pretending they weren't Democrats if that gives you the warm fuzzy feeling of denial you so love to wallow in.

you listed democrats who voted against the CRA... are you suggesting that, de facto, they were all members of the Klan? I guess you really don't have hardly ANY names of democratic KKK members, do you?

why didn't you just fucking say so instead of bullshitting us?

Wrong again shit-for-brains; I listed known racists within the Democratic Party who NEVER changed parties.

You can't keep up with the discussion because you are spinning like a top and can't remember the last lie you posted.

Remember the lie was that racist Democrats moved to the Republican Party after the Civil Rights act to support the equivalent lie that blacks then started voting Democratic. Both lies were exposed by my links which for dishonest partisan purposes, or perhaps your glaring stupidity, you refuse to acknowledge.

Please don't blame me for the glaring ignorance you so desperately seek to wallow in.

still waiting on that list of MANY kkk members.... that coming anytime soon?

I'll tell you what; when you can provide me a list of ALL the racist Democrats that changed their party to Republican, I will provide you with the list that has ALL the KKK members who remained Democrats.

;)

and again... the racist democrats who changed to republicans are not elected officials, they are the electorate. And their existence is self evident in the fact that the south used to be solid blue and now it's pretty much dead red.

So... those MANY Klan members.... you gonna give me that list sometime soon or take back your silly ass claim?

But don't fool your self. Leave the DC metro area for rural western Virginia or leave the Triad region (Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham/RTP) of North Carolina and the prevailing attitudes in the rural parts of Virginia and North Carolina are pretty much as they have been for the last 100 years.

What Virginia and North Carolina are going through is reflective of what a lot of industrial midwest states, like Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsion, Illinois and Minnessota, Western NY State, etc,.) have been going through in which there are significant differences in views and attitudes betwee Urban/Suburban voters and small town/rural voters in which the changing economic land scape has played a significant role in creating new political divisions.

I've seen you bring this idea up many times before and can't say that I disagree with you, but would ask you why you think it is that there is such a stark difference in thinking between rural and urban folks? I have some of my own ideas but would like to see your thoughts as to why as well.

I am not talking about a handful of legislators, I am talking about the people who live in the south... the same people that used to deliver the south to the democrats, now are reliably delivering it to the republicans.

so lets see if we all follow this logic.......the Southern Democrat legislators, who didn't change their party and were racists......didn't get the votes of Southerners.....who started voting for Republican legislators......who hadn't been racists and also didn't change parties.......and your "rational conclusion" from this is that therefore, Republicans must be racists.........seems to me the rational conclusion would be that Southern Democrats who weren't racists stopped voting for the racist Democrats and started voting for the non-racist Republicans.......
