Is the military taking a public relations hit on this?

Correct. It depends upon the thoroughness of the background check. Do you really think the FBI (who does background checks) and the US military can't keep up with the Universities who are booting out students for politically incorrect posts on Facebook?

Correct, but it's a screening. It will catch many but not all. Hence, again, the layered approach including after enlistment. BTW, once they take the oath, they are subject to the UCMJ. Going to Fort Leavenworth is a lot worse than being denied enlistment.

Correct. So? Are you saying just give up and do nothing?

Me neither. I do believe, however, that police who are constantly thrust into the most sordid areas of America tend to become jaded. Why do you think the military and police suicide rates are so high compared to the general public?

I agree with this. And the solution then would seem to be transitioning /rotating personnel to something else and replenishment. Barring that, and digging deeper
will get us into social justice that at this point, considering the politics of the day, is not going to occur.

I'm suggesting the inner city cops do some time in a hot zone, and a few years in Mayberry, not firing people.

And yet I'm waiting for those here who WEAR THEIR MILITARY SERVICE ON THEIR SLEEVES THE MOST, and who never waste any opportunity
to call liberals communists and traitors, to PROVE THEIR HONOR by starting EVEN A SINGLE THREAD SHOUTING DOWN THE SCUM.

Their silence has deafened me.

Wait,... you mean like Dutch? CLEARLY he is far and away the best example of an individual who wants everyone to know he is ex military.

I agree with this. But I think the culture of bigotry is pervasive to an extent and degree that the trappings, for lack of a better word, of human resource depts are doing an insufficient
job to combat that. That's simply the multiple case evidence.

When instances of brutality are seen all over the country, causing protests that are exploited and erupt into violent crime sprees and arsons of banks, etc.
I stop caring about intent. I start caring more about cause effect.

so you recommend an even bigger brother, shitferbrains?

where were you on blm riots?

protests are legal, dippy.

Riots are illegal, son. Americans have a right to peaceful protest. They don't have a right to assault, theft, vandalism or any other crimes. Prosecute the offenders and leave the lawful protesters alone.

im with that. if you broke a window you should be punished. if you merely expressed reservations about election authenticity you should be left alone. agreed?

So every time a liberal does something fucking stupid, I should expect you to quickly step in and denounce them or consider you as guilty as them, counselor? What kind of fucking lawyer are you?...or did I mistake you for a fucking lawyer?

Like that dumb fuck piece of shit is a Lawyer! Maybe in TJ,.... or out of a crackerjack box,...but thats about it.

Agreed, but there's a matter of commuting (it's not like the Rich areas are just a few minutes from the poor areas), staffing and, of course funding....which goes directly to "Defund the Police".

Social justice isn't as easy as it sounds. As the US proved in Iraq, we can't just give freedom and democracy. People have to earn it and fight to keep it. Our nation is fighting for it now. I have no doubt we'll win, but it's still a fight against the forces of tyranny and injustice.

The police are not like the military where they can be bounced around the nation. They're mainly local and all living local.

No, I am not saying they should give to and do nothing.

But sometimes undesirables slip through the cracks and some don't become that way until after they've been on the job for awhile.

And yes, some officers do become jaded. They start out "clean" and after a few years of dealing with people in neighborhoods where they get spit on, where rocks and bottles get thrown at their police cars, and shot at, where they see constant antisocial behavior and violence being perpetrated by people against their own neighbors, become jaded or even worse, begin to hate the very people they are there to protect.

Nothing they can do about that other than constant training and counselling.

Expecting police or any group of humans to be perfect is counterproductive.

Yes. Americans have a right to protest. They don't have a right to be criminals or harm others.

Dutch Uncle too.
Ask him about criminalizing hate speech.
He seems to support it.

Last time he advocated cracking down on racist opinions.
I asked him if he supported hate speech laws.

He kept babbling changing the subject to the full moon on the horizon.

LMAO!!!!!! I must say,....I LOVE when leftist idiots get around to proving my point FOR ME. Many times I have made the claim that the vast majority of police and military are in fact Trump supporters. The board lefties said I was wrong, that I was lying.

Now this thread........ Ahhhhhhhhh,... sooooooooo satisfying. I think I will take my time and sip it down like fine wine.

you skirted the speech issue I nestled in there. should it be ok to question election fraud and protest? say it, wonky.

I bet Dutch supports the Patriot Act & Homeland security too.

Dutch is what happens when somebody has no ability for abstract thought.

His whole World is of desperation & fitting in.

I doubt he's ever had an independent thought.

He already did that back in 69......

...and even more recently. To be clear, most of these incidents are LW nut jobs not official Democrat policy just like the nutjobs last Tuesday was not official Republican policy....albeit maybe Trump policy. As seen on this forum and this thread, there is a very strong streak of hatred for both police and our nation's men and women in uniform on the part of Left Wingers. Some more, some less but it's a lie to deny it's there.

Humphries says there were at least a couple dozen military soldiers near a charter bus when he saw a group approach them. He says he's still getting a grip on what happened next.

"They spit in one of the military guys face, threw a soda on him and called him a bunch of obscenities and just completely disrespectful our guys have to do that."

He’s a soldier at Fort Drum and was getting ice cream with his wife and son one recent evening. They weren’t wearing masks — not a political choice by them — when they were waiting in line. Customers took notice and a verbal altercation escalated to the family leaving without ice cream and getting spit at as they got in their car.

The soldier, whose name is Steve, asked that his last name remain anonymous due to his occupation and clearance level at Fort Drum. He was at the Cowlick Ice Cream shop one evening last week with his wife, Kelsey, and their son. They had been there a few days before as it’s their favorite ice cream spot. There were no lines, he said, and they didn’t see a sign asking people to wear masks, so a few days later on Friday, July 24, they went back without them.

he's king simp.

You can tell Dutch can't think outside the box.
He struggles to be a Human.

He isn't told war is wrong so he supports it.

He believes racist & prejudiced opinions are ONLY wrong against the ones he's told it's wrong against.

He has no issue with prejudices against Poles, Russians, Asians, Irish & Italians etc.
Because nobody told him otherwise.

Some of these terrorist dogs apparently are ex military. Some of the C.H.U.D. who post here also align with Trump.
Even fewer, but still a couple, who claim to be military after this terrorist mission to attack the capitol of the United States of America and kill our democratically elected officials
including Pence, still support the terrorists.

Do we need to look closer at who we allow in the military? Should whites be allowed anymore?

In seriousness, there is more than a hint of paramilitary trappings claimed in this shit. Anyone bothered.

ANY MILITARY POSERS HERE WILLING TO SHOUT DOWN TRUMP AND HIS TARDS? Thought not.

It turns out some were active military
