Is the military taking a public relations hit on this?

Nothing they can do about that other than constant training and counselling.

Agreed people slip through any checks and balances. Nothing involving human beings is perfect which is why it's important to keep our Constitution as solid as possible. Everytime people seek to weaken it then it's only a matter of time before some asshole exploits the weakness.

Agreed training and counseling, all of which requires funding. On that subject, the same applies to the population at large be they rioters (Left or Right), mass murderers or domestic abusers. Our nation talks a good talk about stopping the violence but that's all it does is talk...and ban things. Very little training and counseling before crimes happen.

Agreed on the expectation of perfection. All planning and expectations should be grounded in reality.

Not for long if they broke the law. IIRC, our military usually let's civil authorities handle crimes then, if that's not good enough, the military steps in with the UCMJ.

I take extreme objection to you comment on this. Most of those who fight and die for country are the lower rungs, minorities or the young.
They tend to be more liberal than old white rich people. But they have more standing to be critical of where and when we use force
as they have the most skin in the game.

That's on Trump. He's a loser now and will be a bigger one by the end of the month. What's the real point you are trying to make, counselor? You hate the right? You hate the military? You hate anyone to the right of you?

I'd point out that the prosecution sits on the right, but I doubt you are a court lawyer based upon your debate style...or lack thereof. :)
