We can agree to disagree on this one, at least in part. We are stronger when we shout down those among who advocate for anti American principles. Sadly, that is about 35% of the country at this point. And they are not at all interested in a united country. Charlie Brown was an affable fellow, but any time he spent trying to 'unite' with Lucy would have done him no good when it was time for Lucy to hold the football. I believe the Trump cult is incorrigible. The rest of us can participate in policy discussions. I'm not interested in hearing what they have to say. I'm tired of grievance politics, and that goes for both sides.

I didn't say all guns. I said semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines. They are a threat to me and every American, 24/7/365. We've managed without machine guns, tanks, flamethrowers and nuclear weapons for quite a while now. I think adding semi-automatic weapons to that list is A-OK. If the Trumptards think that means 'we are coming for your guns', I'll be happy to reinforce that notion. I am not in the least apologetic about that stance.

Maybe it's the post-election fatigue coupled with COVID Blues, but I'm mellowing on a lot of the BS pushed on political forums.
Bob is elderly. He obviously doesn't know how to use a spellchecker, of which all modern phones, tablets and computers have. It's a common problem among people over 70 who never worked with computers or electronics; the tech is becoming increasingly more sophisticated just as their minds are fading. There also seems to be a cutoff in ages. I grew up with Pong and battery-operated LED TI calculators when slide rules were still a thing.
TI-1250 calculator below sold for about $25 in 1975 which is over $120 in today's dollars. My Chromebook was only $99. Cheap enough to buy one for both my wife and myself.
Besides the generational tech gap, there's the variance in how age affects people. It hits some harder than others. We all know we're getting old when more of our friends end up in the obituaries. When my dad died last year he was the last of his generation in the family. That was it. The only survivors of four brothers was the kids, most of whom are 40s to 60s.
One thing I've noticed, as Captain Obvious, is that RW forums are populated by older people. Most JPP members are over 60 with many of the far RWers, like Bob, Matt, the TD twins, etc, over 70. More liberal forums have people who are 30ish or younger like Jerome. As such, older people make more typos because they don't know how to use the tech.

1-6 was close to ending it all. The existence of America was under threat The revolutionaries would have killed the politicians. I do not wave that away and say let's be friends.
