Is this a threat or am I missing something?

So you supported invading Iraq for some reason but you don't see Iran as a real threat? That seems like weird logic though.

Does Iran have things I would like to see changed? Absolutely. Do I think they are a threat and that we should keep a close eye on them? Absolutely. But we do not need to be invading them.

I have gone over my reasons for why I believe Iraq was inevitable and why I believe we should have waited on Iraq. I don't feel like going through them all again. Feel free to do a search, I am sure there are several threads that will fill you in.

Haha he is a master shitstarter.

His little snipes on capitalism are what get me. Always tucks them in the last sentence of an otherwise reasonable post, forcing me to disagree.

Eg.

Him: "Bush has been a disaster! Iraq is a quagmire! Spending is rampant! The government should regulate the economy to curb the inherent inequality of capitalism!"

Me: YEAHHHH I AGRE- wait what?

Oh yeah, Cypress is a big commie.

what's funny about this board, is that the two liberals who conservative men (oh, and Topper) seem to get most mad at, are Onceler and Cypress.

BOTH of whom are to the right of me, on economic issues, though possibly not on social issues and almost definitely not on the war. But on economic issues, they are to the right of me.

But other than BB trying to get lucky by calling me a "pinko commie", no one here abuses me about this stuff. So, its' about personalities as well, and also, I think, some kind of turf thing, involving penises and marking territory that I really try not to think about and just hope I don't step in any of the remnants of.

Right. Most bush voters don't want to talk about iraq anymore. ;)

Don't search BF: Its because Iraq violated 17 UN resolutions (or whatever) that we had to invade. ;)

Aw geez...cancel the mimosas.

I guess it's important that you two fight even when you agree?

Now take a look back at the conversation Darla. Who made the implication that I was suggesting unilateral action? That would be the moron Cypress. He did it as usual by trying to read something into what I wrote and creating yet another strawman. That is why the idiot is on ignore.

Lorax I respect, even though we obviously disagree on certain topics. Cypress is an idiot and he is hardly to the right of anyone when it comes to economics.

But you are right.... I already pissed in the economic corner... ITS MINE....

Whatever.

Well, that's the gist, isn't it? We keep hearing about the "17 resolutions", as though that takes care of it. From what I have read about the resolutions, much of what was mandated had to do with WMD programs & WMD's...remember those?

The "17 resolutions" answer is a cop-out for people who KNOW that they are completely unable to make a case that Saddam posed any kind of immediate threat to his neighbors, much less the United States.

I dunno I was over there "defending" us from them a few times and everyone knew they weren't a threat. Everyone I know laughed at the UN briefing where Powell stated their capabilities. We knew and I'm sure everyone in charge knew also that they aren't any kind of threat. Oh well lol.

I'm to the right of you on economics? Well, just because I didn't want the minimum wage to be increased to 50 dollars an hour like you did, hardly makes me a Tom Friedman fan. ;)

I always thought you were on our old board. Yeah, I've always pretty much had that impression. It's not an insult you know!

Yeah, its only because my first career in life was working for a multinational oil company. And because I was sometimes cordial to Sarge. So, I'm forever linked in your mind to the global business interests of Dick Cheney, Halliburton, and ExxonMobil. ;)
