Did it matter when Ted "Splash" Kennedy got drunk, drove off a bridge, and left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in 4 ft. of water????

Assuming the worst, how long did the Kopechne incident last? 15 minutes? An hour?
Let's give it worst case, and call it a day, 24 hrs.

How long has Trump been a fork-tongued crook? Cheating his business partners, discriminating on real estate deals, etc.

Starting at age 25?
How old is Trump now? 70+?

So let's call it 45 years.

So YOU are contrasting one day, to a 45 year established pattern.

And the ratio of that conspicuous mismatch?

365.25 x 45 = 16,436 days

So you're characterizing Kennedy on the exceedingly rare exception.
While overlooking Trump's manifold deficiencies altogether.

And yours is a mismatch ratio of over 16,436 : 1

A 1:1 ratio would make it a toss-up.
A 2:1 still quite close.
But you're orders of magnitude beyond that.

So fundamentally, you're judging Kennedy on one day out of 80 years? By my feeble math that's 0.004%

So while you judge Kennedy by toe 0.004% the rest of us judge Trump on the 100%.

So you tell me. Which of the two of us has the more representative sample? You, at 0.004%? Or me at 100%?

I think that Politifact analysis is of Trump's entire oeuvre, not just his SOTU speech.

Nearly one third of what he says is at least partly true! Should he change the habits of a lifetime just because he's Prez?

The question is: does he know he's doing it?

If he does, then he's just an habitual liar, which is bad for America's image but may not matter much in the long term.

But if he doesn't, that's scary. It would mean the most powerful man in the world is disconnected from reality.

Lying has about as much to do with Trump, as eating has to do with Thanksgiving. Basically all politicians lie to an extent, but this guy lies, and blathers more than a 6th grader, reciting what they forgot to study.

Bernie refused to help the party even though he promised to do so when we kindly allowed him to run as a Democratic party member which he had never been before.

he refused to help get people registered to vote
