No, they don't. Children need loving parents. Gender has nothing to do with it, neither for the child nor the parent. Girls need parents too. Every bit of data bears that out. Your notions are reliant on half truths and misunderstood data points.
Further, you fail to appreciate that the lack of stable homes seems to be caused more by poverty than the reverse. You confuse the symptom and the cause.

So my buddies who have set up these mentoring and coaching groups to put positive black role models in the lives of young black boys who don't have them are doing so on half truths and false data points? I'd argue otherwise but to each his own.
Besides that this is the primary problem with the narrative from your fellow Republican scum. They are arguing that the only reason single mothers are not happily married is because they can forego it and choose the glamorous "lifestyle" of being dependent on welfare. There is no correlation between the rise in single mothers and crime. In fact, since 1992 or a few years later, one would have to argue that the correlation is inverted if it is relevant at all.

I prefaced my comment by saying it wasn't related to crime. It was related to single mothers though and you may think boy's growing up without fathers and male role models is bullshit but many other people don't. And I have no problem sharing what my friends are doing positive in the community.

Your friends should be commended. I am sure they are making a positive contribution. So should the mother that may have been a little overly protective of her son. Parents of a kid with a father present often do that too. Sometimes it is the fathers themselves. I can't tell you how many times some little punks dad would come to the dugout and try to start a physical altercation with our coaches because their little precious had been disciplined.
