Jade's collectors corner.

my SO collects Russian lacquer art.
I recently bought this lacquer plate for her (this is a stock photo from google images). It depicts the Russian fairy tale "Ruslan and Ludmilla", the story of a princess of Kiev who is kidnapped by an evil sorcerer, and is rescued by her fiancé, the warrior Ruslan.

That is utterly beautiful.

I'm selling off collectables to earn some money. Right now it's just model kits, but it may delve into my Star Wars stuff. So far I'm getting close to $300.00 cash off ebay.

Awesome swords, and the Japanese swords are true works of art.

p.s., I marvel at your extraordinary thread ban list.
You could basically say it filters out all racists, bigots, sexist, dunces, dimwits, chumps, liars, libelers, slanderers, and mean girl gossipers. Good work, chap!
But she didn’t get us Irish! :)

I'd like to start a bike collection but my garage isn't big enough. I'm a fan of steel framed road bikes. I own a Raleigh International (Reynolds 853, Campy Athena Carbon), Two Schwinn Paramounts (Tange Super Prestige, Ultegra), A Dave Scott Ironman (Tange II, 105). I have also owned a Cannondale (Aluminum, Ultegra), A Raleigh Technium (Thermo bonded AL, Suntour), Schwinn Premise (Columbus SL, 105). I loaned one of my Paramounts to my sister so I only currently have three in my garage. I'm planning in the near future to buy a tandem so I can ride with my better half. I also have an order in for a custom made steel frame set but I'm like a year behind on the waiting list. The Schwinn Premise as the least expensive of these bikes (paid $600 for it in 87) and the heaviest at 24 lb but it also had the best ride quality of any bike I have owned. The best over all is the Raleigh Internatonal as it's the most recent technology and I custom built it for endurance riding, not racing. It's amazing what they can do with new steel alloys in bikes. They now have new alloys where they can make steel framed bikes at the UCI weight minimum (15#). When I started riding back in the early 80's 23# was considered a light bike.

This is a place to share things you collect.

I finished collecting all the Harry Potter Hogwarts house scarves: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.
Yesterday, was a Hufflepuff day.

You would be actually surprised at how many adults are geeks, because there are people at work who totally recognize my scarves... particularly Gryffindor and Slytherin!
