KSA has a tiger by the tail though...they can't go in with land forces -they would immediately get bogged down..
no clue what they should do from here

And what is it when they murder our journalist?

"Our journalist" really? please inform yourself

and murder is a strong term with no evidence, very strong term

And lets say they did murder him, give us your take on what Trump should do?
I think, you don't think
and that is becoming a regular occurrence thread after thread

Paul isn't asking for sanctions. He's said we can't live with MbS as the Saudi Crown Prince in charge. He's calling for regime change! ROFL.. :palm:

Sanctions never accomplish anything -they just make us feel good, and are usually counter-productive

Paul is an ass...........

I called the body double thing. Their mistake now appears to be having used a bad body double
with a different shoe size. Hell, the dude had hair! Can't just use any fat giuy.
These people should have consulted me. So stupid.

If you are going to use a body double to cover a murder, make sure he withstands the camera test
and that you follow though on my plan to make the double not be identified and show the victim as having
disappeared AS the body double in some place where it is possible for him to have come to harm
through normal criminality.

No question that its a tragic situation.. and the terrain is impossible.

Paul is an ass...........
He's not your political cup of tea, but I prefer federalism
and a limited government.

Anyway he is one of the few who can be counted on not to espouse getting into foreign wars/regime change;
which is why I find it SO ironic he's calling for the demise of MbS

No question that its a tragic situation.. and the terrain is impossible.
terrain /tribalism - how do you even ID many of the combatants?

And if you gain ground -how do you hold it? KSA would be in the middle getting shot at by all

Irrespective of your aversion to the use of sanctions .. or real news .. or facts ..

Rand Paul: Measure to block Saudi arms sales would pass 'overwhelmingly'

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Sunday that if a vote to cut arms sales to Saudi Arabia were to take place in the next couple weeks, such a measure would pass "overwhelmingly."

During a Fox News interview, Paul was reacting to the disappearance of Dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who has been missing for weeks after he entered a Saudi consulate in Istanbul earlier this month.

Paul rejected the Saudis' explanation, saying he "absolutely" does not believe it. Paul also said sanctions "don't go far enough."

Earlier this month, as the first reports of Khashoggi's potential murder came rolling in, Paul announced that he would attempt to force a vote to reject arms sales. The dovish senator was more confident than ever Sunday that such a push would be successful.

"I think if we were to have a vote in the next couple of weeks on whether or not to sell arms to Saudi Arabia, we would win overwhelmingly," he said, before adding a caveat. "I think the powers that be will try to prevent us from having that vote. They have to announce a specific case of arms being sold and my prediction is they will avoid doing that as long as possible."

"With regard to jobs, I don't think arms should ever be seen as a jobs program," he said. "Our arms, our military arms ... are part of our national defense. These aren't something that are just owned by private companies, they are owned by the country and I think we should never sell arms to any country in less it's in national security interest."

He further said that Saudi Arabia's intervention with Yemen "actually increases our national risk."

Please point out what you construe to be 'regime change?'

Paul is doing his job .. which you determine to be whatever is in Trump's best interest.

Jamal Khashoggi : Should Trump complete US arms sale to Saudi's?

President Trump is right.
Withdrawing from the U.S. arms sale to Saudi Arabia would hurt U.S. business & labor.

Senate foreign relations committee member Rand Paul (R-KY) is also correct that if we do not punish this hideous crime, we can expect more of the same for a generation.

Which is more important to the U.S.?
- Business as usual? Or

- our enduring principles of not dismembering U.S. journalists for promoting issues frowned upon by the Saudi royal family?

Should Trump withdraw the U.S. from the $multi-$billion $dollar Saudi arms deal?

Trump will do what Trump does.....whatever is best for the US and its economy. Let the Sauds police their own citizens. Strange is the fact that no one was concerned when it was ISIS and Al Qaeda beheading US citizens and journalists. This is no more than a hic-up.....Iran is far more the human rights abusers than are the Sauds, but that did not stop BHO from sending billions of dollars of bribe money to this evil empire.

Personally, I think the Suads have found a good method to deter fake news and its attempt to direct state policies. There are more than a few so called journalists in the US that need to be indicted.....body dismemberment might be a bit extreme but a good tour and vacation in the gray bar hotel would work wonders for those promoting sedition and treason in the attempt to remove a duly elected POTUS.

A journalist who wrote for the Washington post. No arguments about that. His last column can be read online. He was a good writer with inside knowledge about the middle east. Please inform yourself. Really, he was a journalist.
Trump does not care if reporters or journalists are killed. He is acting just like you would expect him to. He figures with the killing, he has the power to force Saudi Arabia to actually do a munitions deal. He lied about the 110 billion.

He was a Saudi columnist who wrote a few opinion pieces. He was not a journalist, and the billionaire-owned DEMOCRAT propaganda machine (and (you) only pretend to care about his fate because you think you can get more votes on November 6th by hyping his death.

You'd have to live there for 20 years and know something about Islam to get it.

I guess .. maybe .. I don't think so.

If 'freedom' is being able to drive a car in the year 2018 while the activists who fought for that right remain locked up .. I don't think so.
