Jarhead says he "stands with the people" of Egypt... What does he mean?

Well, let me clue you in to a little "understanding the English language"

The opinion "that support without force is meaningless"....IS NOT advocating anything at all....its stating an opinion....

Thats factually, not essentially....though I'm not familiar with anything else that was said in the other thread.

LOL

Award winner for "weakest support of fellow right-wing hack, 2011"....

Thats not even clever.....

but it does expose you as a liar, a fool, a pinhead, and an asshole

so you did accomplish something.:good4u:

I knew you were easy pinkins' cause you pull the same crap with yurt...

I thought it was pretty good.

Actually, I just read through it again, and it's very funny....

I know English is tricky for some, and it seems, especially for you...

clever means skillful in doing something; quick in thinking or learning; intelligent, ingenious, quick-witted

Its a long long stretch to equate 'clever' with 'funny'....

Did you know what it meant before you googled it then cut & pasted the definition?

LOL - now THAT is clever...

On the other thread, he essentially said that support without force is meaningless. He has since amended to include sanctions.

No, I didn't say that.

You posted "support = invasion" in response to something I said, and I replied, "yeah, as opposed to 'support = diddly squat'!" When you make the statement that you "support" something, or you "stand with" someone... it usually means you are willing to take some action, it's not just a meaningless platitude.

Now, I can fully understand what is meant by "stand with the people" and "support" because that is what we did in Iraq, we stood with the people and supported them in overthrowing Saddam... but you all told us that was wrong, we should have let the people stand alone. It's just strange you seem to think it's a good idea to "stand with the people" in Egypt, so I queried about what that actually entails... "standing with" the people of Egypt? Come to find out, it means standing their with your powdered doughnut watching Cairo burn on CNN... That's all the "standing" any of you intend to do for the people of Egypt, or anywhere else.

So...this isn't what you meant then, Dix?

No, because in both the examples you cited, Darfur and the Baltics, some action of "support" ensued. There was some effort made to some degree, to initiate real "support" and it wasn't purely a platitude. Was it good enough, was it the right thing, did it turn out as we wanted? Those are all questions you can raise, but the fact is, when Bush or Reagan said they "stood with" something, it was followed by some action of support.

LOL; ridiculous double-standard.

Yes, in the thread that this thread was "birthed" from in regular Jarod fashion. I pointed out who founded it, what it stands for, how they create websites that say one thing in English for idiots to read, while others in Arabic that say entirely different things...

These are not nice people. I'd prefer we work against them coming to power anywhere.

For someone who hates the War Powers Resolution and doesn't think American troops should be committed to foreign operations absent a declaration of war, you really have some odd opinions about the United States meddling in the domestic affairs of foreign nations.

Wellllllllllllllllll...

Quick-witted is a synonym of funny and you yourself admit that clever also means quick-witted.
