But not to worry, ONLY the poor women who don't have assets and American Express cards who are trapped are the ones who will really suffer. You know the ones that can afford it the most.

following news that Associate Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will be leaving from the court.

Toobin, a former federal prosecutor in New York, is a longtime friend of Justice Elena Kagan, from their time together as classmates at Harvard Law School.

“Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Abortion will be illegal in twenty states in 18 months,” Toobin predicted.

I wouldn't put it pass the court to ban abortion nationwide. Definitely the republicans will pass some bill defining it as murder in federal statutes and they'll be like "nothing to see here!"
 
It will still be legal. Just effectively impossible to get outside a hospital when they are done with it. Lord forbid RBG kicks the bucket. America would be fucked for three decades.

If someone beats up a woman that is 5 weeks pregnant she loses the baby how come that person is charged with murder?

if this was something like birthright citizenship then sure or something like that. But Abortion? Half the people in the trump coalition dont care one way or another. Im nominally pro choice but ill give in to what the religious faction wants as a concession for them supporting other stuff i like as abortion is very low on things i care about.
 
People can vote with their feet too.

Overall, allowing states to decide controversial things will improve cooperation and national unity. The one-size fits all policy disenfranchises more people - that is basic math
 
The Supremes cannot end abortion. They did it many years ago and it just drove it underground where it was dangerous and expensive. Desperate kids went for back alley abortions where many got maimed and some died. Some got beaten and robbed. But desperate kids kept trying.

Many tried self abortion which ended in disaster and often emergency rooms.

If they had money they went on vacation to a country that had it and came back 5 lbs 6 oz lighter. laws don't mean the same to those with money. Never have, never will.

Abortion did not end when it was illegal.

The Courts are hard pressed to overturn (reverse) an action that has become a well established fact of life in American society, and I seriously doubt a State can reverse what is basically Federal Law.
