I saw it reported that Lakewood Church owns the property, not the City
City council voted to sell for 11 million---according to Wiki.
Bottom line it was fake news.

I mentioned before I was on a conservative board last night and there was a lot of bashing of Olsteen. A number of people calling him a huckster and other things. I know he's not my cup of tea but for supporters is he considered a conservative Christian?

Not following. Lakewood Church does or does not own the building?
Lakewood Church relocated to the Compaq Center on July 16, 2005. It is a 16,800-seat facility in southwest downtown Houston along U.S. Highway 59, that has twice the capacity of its former sanctuary.[3][9] The church was required to pay $11.8 million in rent in advance for the first 30 years of the lease.[8] Lakewood renovated the new campus at an estimated cost of $100 million.[5]
On March 31, 2010, the Houston City Council voted 13–2 to sell the property to Lakewood for $7.5 million.[10]~Wiki

I work in real estate, have read that twice and still confused by what's the fake news. Everything I've read says they own the center but you're saying they don't?
The ownership issue is a non-starter, anyway.
There are pictures of Lakewood Church which shows the building at least partially flooded. Is that good enough reason?
I'm just trying to understand out of personal real estate interest if he owns or not?
Well, Wiki says Houston city council voted to sell the building for 7.5 million?
The parking area was flooded, nothing else. He is just not Christlike. They are now opening it after a barrage of complaints.I won't argue the last part lol.
But Osteen initially leased the property and ended up buying it off the city. So the call was his to make.
His FB page clearly shows at least part of the building is flooded so I don't question the call.
Wiki is far from a reputable source.

Yes, I saw pics that show pics inside where they have now lined up air mattresses and pics outside of their building. No water. Witnesses reported their parking area was flooded, it the main portion of the building was fine! Are you claiming the flooded interior pics are fake?
Totally untrustworthy on hot-button topics.
But Wiki is fairly reliable for mundane facts. I see no reason to dispute it.
