Lewis A Kaplan, rebuked Trump for an “entirely inappropriate” statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, shortly before proceedings began.

Kaplan warned the former president’s lawyers that such statements about the case could bring more legal problems upon himself.

If the mainstream, moderately conservative Forbes calls it the Trump rape trial, I am going to put more stock in that than what obscure message board poster Yakuda wants to call it

Would be welcome to hear:

'The jury is directed to view the Access Hollywood video as many times as they like. Pay particular attention to what the defendant says about himself, and note the expression on his face as he says it. Also listen to the testimonies of two friends in whom Ms. Carroll confided about the alleged incident. And the testimonies of two other women who also claim to have been attacked by the defendant. Then deliberate and decide if it is a reasonable assumption that the defendant did as Ms Carroll claims, and if so then how much he owes her for slandering her in public. In other words, please put a price on how damaging his words were to her reputation.'

It's referred to as a civil trial (not a "law suit trial'), as compared to a criminal trial. Since the issue before the jury is whether a rape happened it is as pertinent to call it a "rape trial" as it is to call a criminal trial on a homicide
charge a "murder trial".

Great! So its a civil trial to see if she is entitled to any compensation for a possible rape that he's never been convicted of.

Yes, like OJ Simpson lost his civil trial after being found not guilty in his murder trial. Different rules of evidence in civil and criminal trials allow more facts to be used.

There is no rape trial. This is about defamation of character and assault so stop saying it is a rape case

It is not about rape it ois defamtion of Character and assault. She can't say Rape because she has no proof of Rape. This is a failed reporter trying to get some of Trumps money with lies
