I had a Commodore 64 back in the mid 80's with a Hercules mono chrome monitor and a 640k floppy drive and 64k ram. I only paid about a grand for it and I had the baddest computer in town. You must have gotten robbed on the accounting software.

could be, but I remember that the monthly payments were a third of what I paid my accountant to generate monthly client statements.....

The hard drive is the most failure prone part of a system, storing the most sensitive and irreplacaeble thing in it. I hate them. SSD's fail to, but they at least do so predictable - not at random like hard drives do. I can't wait until the day when everything in a system is just transistors.
 
My last system actually had a 500 gig hd and I was perfectly fine with that amount. I'm really only going to store shit I torrent on this thing.
 
Whelp hard drive is the noisiest hard drive I've ever heard in my life. Sounds like a coffee percolator going off. Rivals a jet engine. I think I'm going to a return it and get a WD Red. I don't really care about performance as long as it doesn't sound like that, anything speed sensitive can go on the SSD,
