When i voted straight Repub to help deliver a landslide GOP midterm election, the GOP failed to deliver what they campaigned on. I felt like I couldn't vote Republican again, and I knew I wouldn't be voting democrat. It was the perfect storm for Trump to come in and snatch the GOP platform from the gop that I despised, and I knew when Trump gave his announcement speech that I'd be voting for him.
One caveat voting for trump was he was outside the political game-something that many of us thought would be a +, but IMHO it was/is a good idea, maybe, but he was not the right person for the job.......
I left the gop, I never joined the Dem party & for the most part have seen them as essentially two fingers on the same hand, @ least since the Dem party abandoned the American worker & left the country w/out any semblance of a labor party=NAFTA & other trade deals sending the jobs to Asia, Mexico etc..
