Killers love guns

Management agencies actually try to attain a maximum sustainable yield, or harvest, of so-called "game animals".

Wildlife managers and hunters preferentially kill male animals, a policy designed to keep populations high. If overpopulation were really a concern, they would preferentially kill females.

Another common practice that belies the claim that wildlife management has as a goal the reduction of populations to prevent starvation is the practice of "game stocking".

For example, in the state of New York the Department of Environmental Conservation obtains pheasants raised in captivity and then releases the defenseless birds in areas frequented by bloodthirsty sadists with guns.

For every animal killed by a "sportsman", two are seriously injured and left to die a slow death. Given these statistics, it is clear that hunting fails even in its proclaimed goal, the reduction of suffering.

The species targeted, both the "game" animals and their predators, have survived in balance for millions of years, yet now wildlife managers and gun-toting killers insist they need to be "managed".

The legitimate task of wildlife management should be to preserve viable, natural wildlife populations and ecosystems.

Guns are useful in the right hands.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

The militia (a government-trained, funded and equipped body) should have guns.

Individuals cannpt guarantee the security of the State. In fact, judging by the threats from gunlovers, private ownership is a danger to the State.

so you are fearful of citizens owning guns...by your words you are a coward....

why are you a coward and why are you fearful of american citizens?

alcohol kills more people than guns, why don't you want obama to outlaw alcohol?

DNC is lying when he says he cares about people...he doesn't want to outlaw any of the other far more deadly causes, he is just a bitter and fearful (coward) person that wants a weak and controlled populace.

False stereotypes?????
Did you see that Heston loony? He said he was representative of America.
Are you an average American? You like killing animals?
False stereotypes? Gimme a break.

I see that we here in America are not alone with painting broad generalizations based on false stereotypes.

So by pointing out other stupid habits and pastimes you make your own stupid pastimes acceptable?
Oh dear, we DO have a problem.

no, it is pointing out hypocrisy and the fact that you can't simply ban everything in the false hopes that humans will not die....

the USA is not about being our parent, it is not about taking away rights, if you think it is, you are in the wrong country

I don't know if I'm average. I don't hunt. I do know that if someone tries to violate my rights, I will respond apprpriately.

Vice President Joe Biden says "it's time that we gotta figure a way to deal with this senseless, senseless violence."

I agree.

Rightwing nutjobs threaten to kill government officials, massacres occur over and over.

The 2nd amendment was intended to allow states to set up a militia. The time for that is past.

Why should the profits of the gun lobby prevent Americans from joining other civilized nations in ridding our land of a dangerous scourge - the gun?

You obviously feel that getting rid of all guns would resolve a problem; but could you please tell me what you would use to stop 2 criminals, who break into your house, from stabbing your entire family to death??

My criticism is not of the owning of guns per se but of the mindset that sees it as normal and acceptable behaviour to kill animals for sport. If you think it is fun let's hope that one day someone pursues you through the forest on a day that you are totally defenceless. Now that WOULD be a Utube worth watching.

The idea that hunters are only out there to kill is ridiculous.

If that were the case, hunters would not laugh at or ridicule canned hunts.

As a hunter, I can say that I am not there specifically for the kill. I am there for the hunt. I get up in the wee hours of the morning for the hunt, which is far more than just shooting an animal. I am there to pit my stalking skills against the animal. I am there, like my ancestors before me, to be part of the wild and to the predator.

If DNC and Lowicue are vegetarians, your disgust at my hunting might make more sense.

If you are not a vegetarian, you are a hypocrite.

"For every animal killed by a "sportsman", two are seriously injured and left to die a slow death."

DNC, where did you get this? Care to quote a source?

You don't understand. You still think the problem I have is with your guns.
It isn't. It is with your mindset.
People who enjoy killing as a sport or recreation have a major problem. I know 63 million Americans love killing things but I would guess that more than that already have mental problems. Where else would the psychiatrist's couch be more popular than the pub?
Your normality just doesnt fit with civilised man. Strange that in tandem with this stupidity your nation, uniquely, wages war at the drop of a dollar and most American men think they are more macho than the incredible hulk....
Why can't you just live your lives as if they and those of all other living things deserve the same respect? Is it really too much to ask? It doesn't stop you being a man - indeed it might make you more of one.

You seem to be willing to ignore everything I say in favor of your mindset that I am out for the kill. The hunt is not just about the kill. Yes, I do kill an animal in the wild. But your descriptions show a lack of understanding of the sport of hunting. I am not just walking out and shooting an animal at my leisure.

And I have a profound respect for all living things. I respect my prey. I go to great lengths to make sure that I take the animal in the most humane manner.

Your idea that all american hunters are just rednecks wandering the woods in a drunken rage killing everything in sight is completely wrong.

And your claim that 63 million americans love killing things is so far off-base as to be laughable. Not every gun owner is a hunter. In fact, less than one-third are active hunters.

And just as an FYI, I am not hunting to prove my manliness.

Your generalizations about americans is ridiculous. Perhaps you could try harder to lump us all into a single stereotype.

It makes it easier to ridicule and boosts your ability to think you are superior.
