Let loose the Seuss!

Can someone please post up the drawings that have been deemed offensive? The only one I've seen is the Chinaman with the pointy hat and food bowl. Man, could I go for some pork fried rice right now...

Semantics.

They are being recalled and taken out of print.

That is tantamount to being cancelled.

Just because liberals or liberal ideology are behind something, doesn't mean you have to defend it.

Taking these classic pieces of American children's literature out of print because, if viewed in a certain skewed light or context, they could conceivably be seen as offensive to a small segment of society, provided that segment was thin-skinned enough to take notice and be offended, is just taking sensitivity and inclusiveness too far.

Things are just getting silly nowadays and all this kind of shit does is give ammunition to the right.

Time to shut up about all this crap and get fucking lives.

And power does what it can to prevent the books from being sold used....power does not want you or your kids looking at the "deeply problematic" Seuss, considerself told...disobey at your own cost....and there is only one reason....Seuss spent his entire life trying to convince us to not support pretty much every damn last thing that the Revolution pushes. As Bret says, the Revolution is not out to silence only the Right or R's or people who like guns or Trump....they are out to silence all opposition, even when it comes from the Left like with me and Bret....as Bret knows because extensive efforts have been made to silence Bret, and because Bret talks to a lot of people, he knows damn well what is going on, he saw all of this being tried out at Evergreen...on him.....these fucks have already destroyed his life once....now they ae working on doing it again!

Can someone please explain why this is an important issue all of sudden after 2 years?

Power disappearing books because they dont want them read has been a big thing for many hundreds of years, ever since we figured out what a horrible idea it is, where the FUCK have you been?

That is why we see Bret here Balls to the Wall objecting to the Revolutions cancellation policy.

Recalled? Where did you hear that?

Right here.....

'It's a moral decision': Dr Seuss books are being 'recalled' not cancelled, expert says

A leading expert on racism in children’s literature has said the decision by the Dr Seuss Foundation to withdraw six books should be viewed as a “product recall” and not, as many claim, an example of cancel culture.

Notice the quotation marks around "recall". Ok then re-read.

I read it once.

That was enough.

A leading "expert" on racism in children's literature said it is in effect, a "recall".

I take him at his word.

If you want to argue semantics or play word games, go find someone else to do that with.

I'm not interested.

This nonsense has gone too far.

If you want to defend it, that's fine with me.

Defend what? What word games? The sentence is right there! "A leading expert on racism in children’s literature has said the decision by the Dr Seuss Foundation to withdraw six books should be viewed as a “product recall” and not, as many claim, an example of cancel culture."

They said it should be VIEWED as a "product recall", NOT an example of cancel culture.

Do you even know what word "recall" means? It means asking for their products to be returned.

Are you even telling me that publishers should continue to print ALL books, no matter what, because fuck them? Is that the route you want to go?

I'd stop talking if I were you because you just belittled yourself. :rofl2:

Children in the bodies of adults as my fellow progressive Heather labels the problem which threatens the very existence of Western Civilization....Which is currently circling the drain.

When you get to the cancelling of Seuss you have to know that you have been negligent.

What they're doing still sucks and it deserves criticism.

Cancelling certain Dr Seuss books because of some imaginary offensiveness is just going too far.

We are turning into a society of fragile, timid little girls.
Back in the 30's/40's certain imagery was acceptable. Caricatures of Asians were all the rage after Pearl Harbor. Same for Germans and any other nations we went to war against. Same for any person of color.

The publishers made a decision based on current attitudes. These books are still out there by the thousands.
