Your opening post assumes that every person in a given state is either a Republican or a Democrat. Perhaps you should have thought twice before deciding that it was worthy of a separate thread.
It isn't happening, but for conversation purposes, it would be interesting to see the nation divided up between Red/Blue States, three entities, West Coast, NE plus the Middle Atlantic States, and all the remaining Red States inbetween.
The majority of the population, financial hubs, cultural centers, wealth, and prominent individuals will be the Blue States, with strip malls, boulevards, chain stores, and a lot of concrete block architecture in the Red States, oh, and guns, lot of guns. Love to see those ranchers from Montana and Wyomimg have to deal with the good ole boys to get anything done

You never responded to my other post. Are Pa, WI & MI red now because they voted red for the first time in 6 or 7 elections? And what about all the purple states?
They are regressive and leftovers from the time of serfs and lords and akin to those who were loyalists to the throne. Simply put...this is why the USA cannot have nice things. We must keep them as far away from the seats of power as possible.

However, if you would like to secede from the United States of America, I am sure that there are those states what would not blink an eyelash. You can have your democratic socialism or whatever the hell you call it, open borders, no national defense and the rest of us will abide by the Constitution as written.
Just know that when you turn yours to shit, you can not come to ours. Just saying.

Wisconsin, Michighan, Illionis, Minnesota would get screwed, geographically just doesn't make sense. Pennsylvania is unique, as James Carville once described it, you got Philly in the East, Pittsburgh in the West, and a whole lot of Alabama inbetween. Given the majority of the population is urban, it would go with the Blue States.
And I don't what purple states you are referring to, but you have to separate somewhere, I'd stay with my original divisions
