Liberal Democrat Jesse Jackson: "Obama Acting Like He's White"

LOL.
Maybe that explains why all the white Liberals love him?

"Jackson sharply criticized presidential hopeful and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for “acting like he’s white” in what Jackson said has been a tepid response to six black juveniles’ arrest on attempted-murder charges in Jena, La."

It appears that there's a language barrier .. so let me interpret ..

What Jackson was saying .. and I COMPLETELY AGREE .. is that Obama is not paying attention to black issues, and like white America, seems to believe that relative freedom is all black deserve.

It may surprise you to know that black America is up in arms and outraged by the Jena 6 case and there is going to be a massive demonstration there tomorrow with as many as 60,000 people coming from all over the country to protest. A great many of those going are college students and young people .. the very same young people who often get accused of not paying attention to society and disengaged from the struggle.

Even among those who aren't going there will be massive demonstrations at schools all over the country. Even at my daughters high school. which is racially mixed, students are going to wear black to school in support.

In case this news hasn't trickled up to where you live ...

I suspect that Obama is consciously avoiding the issue for strategic reasons -- which is precisely what's pissing Jackson off, naturally.

Ethnicity -- I try to never use "race" unless I have to since it's a stupidly inappropriate word -- is definitely still an important issue in our society. Any attempt to pretend that it is not, or that the best way to deal with it is to ignore it, really pisses me off too. Emotionally, I'm with Jesse on this. Still, I'm inclined to cut Obama some slack. There's a lot of merit to the idea that the time for him to make a difference here is after he's elected, not before.

The problem with that is after he's elected .. IF he's elected .. it will be too late for these students and African-Americans .. who he cannot win without .. are not going to be happy with the second-class treatment he's giving them by putting off issues important to us for the benefit of his appearance.

Yeah they're a bunch of racist assholes, does that mean violence against them should not be prosecuted?

I didn't read anything in there that made me see anything wrong, and I looked and did not see a statement that contradicted the attempted murder charge, I'd need more details for that, but you are all too ready to jump to conclusions.
I bet you were right up there with the mob against the lacrosse players from Duke too.

People like Jackson and Sharpton live for this shit, scouring the nation for any racist (ONLY white on black) like stuff happening, they completely ignore the far greater picture (ie: the far higher number of crimes committed by blacks against whites).

Anyway, if the Liberal lawyers read the article, they will note that Jackson did not clarify that comment as was done above. Instead Jackson lied and pretended he never said it, why? Because it was an embarassing thing to say.

People like you live for people like Jackson and Sharpton so you can focus the attention on them rather than the underlying outrage. For example, rather than discussing the Jena 6, the underlying outrage, you focus your attention on what Jesse Jackson is saying about Obama. Convenient for you, I know.

And that last thing you said about them focusing on race is so brain-dead it isn't even worthy of a response.

Write on, brother! ;)

I agree, on all points.

That's the cleft in the stick, yes. I wish he were being more forceful about the issue but we're stuck with what we've got. It's probably too late now: if he jumps on the proverbial bandwagon now it's going to look like a blatantly political move.

I truly hope that this doesn't mean Obama's taking the African-American vote for granted. It doesn't look good, I grant you, but it's just one issue out of many.

I asked some very old members of the board who was more full of shit, and they all say that Dano is more full of shit.
Ahhh... the "I know you are, but what am I?" defense.

Dano's was funny, this one is just, according to all the experts in the field, full of sh*t.

Beware: Laughing at the Danold's jokes carry a policy of scathing excommunication from the elite group of regular Liberals.

Fairly warned be thee, says I.
