yep.That is he plan. After a decade or two of suffering, we will build all the infrastructure to make everything. You cannot deny that we have a lot of years of suffering ahead of us.
What we saw with places like Brazil and India when they used broad, high tariffs was that sooner or later they did build everything. It took a lot longer than they thought it would, but they got to that point. Unfortunately, the lacked economies of scale, comparative advantage, and most importantly competition. It was almost impossible to buy a color TV well into the 1990's in either country. They were always 30 years behind the times, and double the price.
And they were never able to develop exports.
So honest trump supporters say trump will lead us into a long, deep recession, or more likely a depression, and then we will have a golden age a decade later. People who disagree with trump say there will be no golden age, just a descents into third world status.
