Another interesting thing is that the illegal search lasted for 2 hours and the police threatened to sic the dog on them.
Again, this is from the one side of the story. I'm not buying the part about the boy being "terrorized"by the dog and so much of the story was hyped beyond credibility that without at least some corroboration from the police on what happened I have to presume that the police had some sort of reason that is being intentionally omitted.
Trust me, I believe the police sometimes employ excessive force, are sometimes total assholes and sometimes are completely unprofessional ... and I believe many should be fired, i.e. that they are not the right people to be given that kind of authority. I have never seen a jail cell from the inside because I have never been arrested, I am totally boring, I don't break the law and I am never beligerent with cops ... although I am a sarcastic muthrphukk'r when I am nonetheless hassled by cops for absolutely no reason. If they are going to screw with me then I am going to screw with them and goad them into doing something that will hand me a huge lawsuit that will all go to my kids. They always seem to catch on and just "let me go".
With that said, I cannot simply assume it just because someone wrote a hit piece; I need something to corroborate both sides.
Anecdote: Once while I was out for a
walk in Tucson I happened to walk by a McDonalds that had a short female cop standing outside. As I walked by she got my attention and said "Sir, I need you to stand over here." I asked "Excuse me, am I being pulled over?" She responded "Yes sir, I need you to stand over here. Can I see some ID?" I responded "Excuse me, are you sexually profiling me? I haven't seen you pull over any females." She said "Sir, I need some ID." I said "I don't have any." She asked me where I was heading and I said "You didn't notice that I was walking in
that direction?" She asked "Where are you going?" I answered "Over there." She asked me "Do you have any weapons on you that I need to know about?" I just looked at her, looked down at myself and my shorts and a T-shirt and then looked back at her and asked "Are you joking?" She then said "OK, you can go, but you need to stay over there on the sidewalk." I asked "Do you mean the sidewalk on which I was walking or the sidewalk on which I was walking?" She turned away to do something else.
Most people think they've "seen everything" but only I can legitimately make that claim.
