looking for liberal input

I was not pleased with TARP, which was Bush's.
I am mostly pleased with the stimulus package.
I do hope a good health care reform can be worked out.

Only a single digit % of the stimulus money has been actually spent so far I think.
Which is both good and bad. Bad in that it can cause at least the perception of stretching the recession out. Good in that it might be being spent a bit more wisely than the TARP funds were.

Its amazing how defensive the dumbass's get.

There is nothing misleading in my question. There are no flaws.

At some point the left will have to accept that republicans are not only not in power, but that they cant even filibuster. Everything that is happening is OWNED by democrats and the current Administration. EVERYTHING. There isnt anything that has occurred in the last 6 months that isnt entirely the responsibility of the democratic congress and the President of the United States.

Im simply inquiring as to whether the actions taken are desired by the liberals who supported these candidates in the last election cycle.

The deficit has never reached a trillion dollars before. It has now. We've never had such a large budget before. We have now. And yes many of our banks are nationalized.

Too many of you are caught up in trying to escape or assign blame. Im not trying to blame anyone for why the house is on fire, im only asking if the method in which its being put out is acceptable to the liberal side of the aisle.

Some of you just need to calm down.

SR

:0)

I'm always calm sir .. but my calmness has little to do with your flawed analysis about nationalizing banks.

AND, if I may .. your questions were put with a definate bias splattered all over them. I'm sure you don't need me to post that clearly obvious bias.

AND, no, everything we face today is NOT owned by the current administration who inherited 8 years of problems.

As for the steps that have been taken, no, hell no, I don't agree with pouring money on failed rich people .. don't agree with Obama's economic team or policies .. but then again, I'm not a liberal.

Geithner negotiated and was in charge of the TARP.

With what part of the stimulus are you pleased?

But Bush puhed the TARP in a fear driven manner. Just like you are saying Obama pushed the stimulus package. And McConnel pushed it as well.
bush pushed it and signed it, it is his.

On the stimulus package. I like the unemployment extensions, the subsidized Cobra coverage for those laid off. The investments in infrastructure and alternative energy development.

Yeah and Geithner agreed with Bush.

Yes, raising taxes and forcing people to exclude other markets is free market capitalism. A+++ SMY.

It's the government's duty to craft policy in a manner which strenghthens the nation. It's is against the government's mandate to use trade policy to destroy the standard of living in the nation, based on some sense of global justice, bad climate science, or just plain white hate.

Yes. Enact protectionist policies to increase jobs and stimulate the entire economy at all levels. If multinationals don';t like it, they can take a hike. We will create new business to serve all our needs in house. We can do this, and this is what the globalizers fear most, our awareness of our potential for self sufficiency.
That's an incredibly stupid idea. Ever hear or the Smoot-Hawley tarrif act? It was one of the dumbest pieces of legislation ever passed by congress.

Watermark was babbling about that earlier.

Protectionism is a great idea. Let other countries follow suit. we will be the first to rise from the ashes, due to the exceptional american character and bountiful resources.

The idiocy of pricing our citizens out of the labor market is moronic. Moronic idiocy.

Free trade means the freedom to say no to bad deals.
