Republicans and Democrats stopped being political opponents with the Newt Gingrich speakership.
Since then, we've been ideological enemies, not political opponents.

How naive would one have to be to expect anything else? We share NO common ideology anymore.
The hatred is palpable. It will eventually result in the partition of the republic.
At least then, parts of the former United States will finally become civilized.

For what are we waiting?
