How stupid do you think Berger is? There is no way on earth he would say the Speaker of the House had "poisonous lips". She decides whether he gets funding, keeps his job, and what rules he lives by. The National Guard should be enough. The right wing keeps proving the regular military is for Big Government nanny-Statism that may be indistinguishable from socialism on an international basis, not any form of free market Capitalism, like they allege in socialism threads.

Agreed the story is mostly fake. It's reasonable that Pelosi may have asked the Commandant if he had any orders regarding defending the Capitol (or HQMC which is an easy 5-mile jog from the Capitol).

However, even though I disagree with Pelosi's party and politics, she's not stupid. She's obviously been around the block a few times which makes this supposed narrative look like bullshit.

Political extremists love to take a small fragment of truth, such as the Speaker and the Commandant talking about security, into a full blown bullshit conspiracy theory.

Regardless, it's people like Lionfish who will be investigated as potential terrorists or terrorist supporters. Obviously he didn't pop up from nowhere. Like Kyle Rittenhouse, he's been raised to believe a certain way. If Lionfish isn't a terrorist or guilty of conspiracy, then he probably knows who they are.

The FBI already tagged the major players, at least the ones stupid enough to post on FB, forums and other social media, but it will take longer to hunt down those who gave the orders but had no online footprint. Lionfish and the little fish will see their time come. Little fish are often useful to catch bigger fish. As we've seen on this forum, as a group, they ain't too bright. LOL

Agreed. The reason there are so many is because they are spread out to guard many Federal buildings and maintaining a presence in the streets. They'd most likely do it in rotating 8 hour shifts, 24/7 and allowances for absences, illnesses, family emergencies, etc.

The only fear with the National Guard is that the DC National Guard is technically the only National Guard under the President's authority in times of peace, so until noon on January 20th, trump has control...

But there are plenty of other state National Guards in DC now, and trump only got 5.4% of the vote in DC. I very much doubt that the DC National Guard would follow any illegal orders from trump, with so few politically supporting him.

So there is no fear of trump keeping power. There is a fear that trump supporters will kill some people, but Biden will definitely be President January 20th afternoon.

I certainly hope so. The whole point of security is that too much is fine, but too little is a disaster.

Part of the problem is we cannot count on trump giving orders to the DC National Guard to defend against his worshippers. That might mean there are fewer National Guard doing something productive.

If right wingers were trustworthy, they would have no objection to this law:

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.

It should never be about, grabbing guns but about grabbing gun lovers and Regulating them Well.

It should be a simple matter of organizing more militia to solve any security problems in our free States.
