You have just switched profits from private companies to government. How does it improve the healthcare system for the government to own it?

Are you serious? If the government ran health care, ALL the tax revenues would go to the actual health care. NONE would be wasted on profits. More bang for the buck because the government isn't a "for profit" business.

Revenue coming to government are not called "profits," but it is still used to run the business. Government agencies don't perform services any cheaper or more efficiently than private businesses. Government agencies that do not have to make a profit means they have no incentive to keep spending down. Government agencies always attempt to increase their budget just like private businesses. Greed is greed in government or private business.

Look at all the problems with the VA for a government run enterprise.

Not false. Medicare reports it has $60 billion in waste and fraud. Almost anybody can bill Medicare for services and products and get paid. The are gone by the time the government discovers they are fraudulent. Chiropractors, dentists, etc. bring in patients on Medicaid and bill the government for services not needed or not rendered. Veterans have to wait months for appointments for serious problems.

Many colleges admit as many students as possible to get the money the state provides per student. Some of these students never attend class or maintain a passing average, but they are allowed to continue in the name of "student success" (money).

Many private businesses are not any better, but they are not running on tax dollars.

Do you think all those industries/businesses you want to nationalize operate more effectively in China, N. Korea, Cuba, or Vietnam?
