He's leading. Gore has elevated the topic as a priority in a way that is hard to fully measure, but I have no doubt that without his efforts, the awareness & discussion of it would be on a much lower level.
Gore bought the property in 2002, and has been renovating since.
Bush has not lead at all on a national level on any issue related to the environment.

Uh, yes. He got a Nobel Prize for leading. And leaders, scientists, and policy makers from around the world recognize him for it. At his Nobel Acceptance speech the audience went crazy for him. The world loves Gore. Sorry, it must hurt you.

I agree he has helped in the sense that he has brought the topic to the front. But I think he has also hurt the cause by exagerating to the point of people tuning out the issue because of the exaggerations.
The only people who get hung up on perceived exaggerations are Rush Limbaugh, Mike Savage, Sean Hannity & all of the people who adore them.

He hasn't hurt the cause. Surely you jest. Your Gore-hatred is overwhelming you. Was the movie perfect? No. Is the movie, and Gore's efforts, broadly, and nearly universally recognized around the world as a valuabe contribution? Not a doubt.
This is the free market of ideas. You cons believe in competition and free markets right? That the people with the best ideas/products should win? Well, Gore has won. The only people who are dismissing him, are a few million americans in wingnutotopia and the con media. The rest of the world loves him, and embraces his efforts on global warming. When the IPCC and the SCIENTISTS say you are exaggerating, then what good are you doing to continue with your idiotic exaggerations? ALL you can accomplish is making people think the whole issue is a crock of shit. You do NO GOOD by exaggerating the issue.

tell me... how are they "smarter" than us???? I agree that the scientists are smarter than me on the issue, but the presenters of the award? I think not. After all, they gave the Nobel PEACE prize to someone who has done what exactly to promote PEACE? Running around like chicken little doesn't promote peace. I think it is a huge leap of logic to assume the actual scientists from the IPCC should have won the PEACE prize, let alone chicken little.
In the movie I saw, most of what have been targeted as "exaggerations" are presented as "worst case scenarios" by Gore. I can see, with your built-in hatred of him, how you would misinterpret that.
Also, if you choose to allow what you (again) perceive as an exaggeration by someone you hate to cloud objective reasoning on the issue and cause you to dismiss it as a priority as a result, I can't really help you. To me, that's just plain stupid.

Another pathetic cop out on your part. To presume that I "hate" Gore and use that as justification for your strawman. The point is that in the IPCC's and the REAL SCIENTISTS opinion, his "worst case" scenarios are not possible.
It is quite obvious that on this issue your head is up Gores ass and thus you must enjoy the shit he pumps out. Because again, if you look at the IPCC.... THEY are saying that Gore is exaggerating, because none of their models or scientists think that chicken little's "worst case" scenarios are possible.
But please, continue with your strawmen. Try to project hatred of Gore on to me. That is obviously your only defense.

the 20 foot rise is predicted in the worst case scenario to take place over 1000 years plus. Gore "inconveniently" forgets to mention that part.
Gore acts like the Gulf Stream will shut down... the IPCC says that is highly unlikely.
Your lovefest for chicken little shows that you are obviously not going to be objective. Bush exaggerates... you call it a lie. Chicken little does it and you say, thats ok al we still worship you.
