Massive hypocrite Gore...

There was an article that was widely reported on the other day (and posted in the other forum on JPP) where they were speculating a potential 22' rise in sea levels, in a worst case scenario:

http://news.aol.com/story/_a/acceler...11220409990001

So Gore was actually kind of low-balling it.

And don't deny that you hate Gore. Your contempt for him is well-documented on this board, though it would be hard to search because you always use a derogatory name for him.

side note... could you repost that link? It brought up and aol page that said the article you were looking for does not exist. (which is kind of fitting)

The Gore hatred comes from those who secretly wish they had voted for him.

LOL

Wrong! I guarantee you that if we could travel back in time to 2000, and superfreak only had two choices - Bush or Gore - he'd still pull the lever for bush.

also... there is a big difference to thinking he is and idiot and not liking his political views and hating the man. For if you do look back at my comments on him (especially on this issue) you will see that I have agreed that he has brought more attention to the issue.... but that I do not like the manner in which he does it.

"Your lovefest for chicken little shows that you are obviously not going to be objective. Bush exaggerates... you call it a lie. Chicken little does it and you say, thats ok al we still worship you"

I don't worship Gore, and I have said on other threads that he needs to be more diligent about his personal habits, symbolic though they may be, if he is going to lead on the issue.

You're only reacting in this emo kind of way because you detest the man. I posted this because there were so many posts about his "hypocrisy" when Fox scrutinized his carbon footprint. I'm not saying he's a hero for it, but his efforts were worth noting, imo. And what was your very 1st reaction? Bush is better! Too little, too late!

Kind of pathetic, and definitely shows more about you & how you feel about Gore than anything about me, or how I feel about Gore.

Oh, lord - that's even sadder. You did so VERY reluctantly, and only because you knew you'd look like an idiot if you continued to deny it. Don't you remember your 1st comment on that subject? Here is it, as a reminder:

"Is the boar really leading? or simply telling spooky stories based on his warped sense of what is occuring based on faulty models? Models which he in turn exaggerates?"

No lorax... I said that you worship him based on the same type of bullshit that you project hatred from me towards the man. The reaction was based in-kind.

The whole Bush was better was just a jab. I never said Bush has done more for the environment than Gore. You just got your panties twisted so quickly that you took it for more than it was.

On this thread, yes. I was being an ass at first. Using the chicken little method of exaggeration that your hero loves so much.

Here is my reaction to your initial, rather simple-minded post on this thread about Bush:

"Bush does a good job with his house. With the country - not so much.

I think if you're going to lead on this issue, you kind of have to walk the walk. Bush doesn't lead on this issue, so what he does personally doesn't matter a whole lot to me."

That, in your definition, is "getting my panties in a bunch?"

If anything, you're the one who went all emo on this one. You really have Gore issues you should deal with at some point in your life.

What you type and what you actually felt is why I said your panties are in a bunch.... you took .....

"Congrats to Al.... his home is now on the same playing field as GW Bush."

and turned it into....

"And what was your very 1st reaction? Bush is better! Too little, too late!"

Saying his home is on the same level as Bush's is a far cry from your exaggerated hype. Clearly you are using the chicken little method of analyzing data.

As long as he doesn't gross us out by kissing tipper on TV I'm good.

Seriously, he can now spread the measage ala home fix-up style.
Solar panel, geothermal, and rain collections systems preached on TV 1,000 times by him could do infinately more than his movie.:clink:

Nothing about my statement represents an exaggeration in any way, based on what you said. Maybe that's your problem with Gore's movie...you don't really understand what is meant by "exaggeration?"

Your FIRST comment was about how Gore caught up to Bush, ergo "Bush is better" because he was there first. The implication was clear. The "too little, too late" is a direct response to your complaints about the 5-year interval, and delays in getting it done.

Any way you slice it, it is a pathetic, Bush-lover response to the gist of this thread, which is not to immortalize Gore, but to just note & give him some props for renovating his house in an environmentally-friendly way. Your reaction is something I would equate to the response of the average caller into Rush Limbaugh's show regarding Gore...

you have seen none of the green Gore commercials ?

I haven't US what network
Besides a few comedies, history channel, I'm usually on CNBC, Bloomberg, or ESPN.

Gore can really help spread the use of solar panels from California to the rest of the country. Bush really should talk more about what he's done as well.

No, that is what you read into my statement. My statement was simply a dig on the fact that the "leader" Gore just got around to getting his home as "green" as the evil oil man Bush. It was a sarcastic jab. But your ability to read that as "bush is better on the evironment" or some such bullshit means that you do indeed worship chicken littles exaggeration techniques.

The "it doesn't take five years to upgrade your house" comment was a direct response to your attempt to justify why Bush's was green before Gores. You stated....but, but my hero chicken little JUST bought his house in 2002, thus he couldn't have beaten Bush to having a greeeeeeeeeeeen home....

So any way you slice it, your hatred of Bush is what sent you off on this whole tangent. The mere mention of his name in association with a topic that your beloved hero chicken little champions sent you into a frenzy.

That's sad, SF. You admit that you were just being sarcastic & trying to provoke, anyway; your comment had nothing to do with what was being presented on this thread. I responded to you appropriately, given your intent.

And then you wonder why you get categorized as a Bush lover so often...

I dunno what network, but it was on broadcast because I see them on my workshop TV which only gets local stuff.

but they are out there. Promoting insulation, squiggly bulbs, energy star appliances, etc...

I actually do not wonder why that happens. There are many on the left here who think that anyone who disagrees with them, must love Bush.

My positions on Bush and contempt for his leadership are quite apparent. Unfortunately too many on the left cannot see it or refuse to see it because their party blinders get in the way.

Gore could easily done it on his previous home. Bush and Gore could do more.
Bush is mr lame duck now so he should just stf up.
Gore HAS the environmental mantle and should shamelessly promote other people following his example. Even a global warming skeptic has to agree that green energy pollutes less, the bubba hunters can get that.

While I am a skeptic of man being the primary cause of global warming, I do believe that we are going through changes. I also believe you are correct, as I (and others) have stated, there are plenty of reasons to go green and I do think the ways in which people can do so should be publicized as much as possible.

Many are still out of the economic reach of the average American, but costs are coming down and the more we educate now, the more apt people will be to change once it becomces economically viable.
