Not sure your point but I do recall seeing a guy in Texas who said they didn't evacuate because of the high risk of tornadoes combined with clogged roadways, so they would rather ride out the hurricane than risk being on a highway when a twister came through.

So, why again do I have to go traipsing off whenever you beckon, to find headlines for you? This storm has gotten massive coverage. You & Irish look like partisan fools.
 
So I double checked to be sure. From 2:04 pm to 2:07 pm Est, CNN, FNC and MSNBC were reporting about Harvey, Houston and TX. MSNBC is currently interviewing Ted Cruz.

Basically, my point is the media hasn't found anything with the storm to beat Trump over the head with. I don't have an issue with the general coverage, per se, and I didn't sign onto the OP's white angle.

But so far, Trump's response has been more than adequate. He has good FEMA people in place and was Johnny on the Spot with the release of federal disaster funds.

I would think that would be worth AT LEAST ONE positive headline out of the MSM.

I also pointed out that the only government failure has been on the local level, where the mayor failed to call for an evacuation of Houston. It's amazing no one has died as a result.

I haven't seen a single headline about that in the national media. Of course, the mayor is a democrat, so yeah.

wasnt harvey billed as the worst storm evar for texas?

Since we are coming with a death toll of 5 vs 1800 does this mean it was handled well?

The blame-shifting between state and federal officials that sometimes attends disasters wasn’t apparent. Officials were rightly focusing first on search and rescue for those threatened by floodwaters, but in the days ahead the attention will focus on clean up and rebuilding. Red Cross and private companies are also doing what they can and will be doing more as people need food and temporary shelter.

I think it's safe to call it the worst rain event. The amount of rain Houston is getting is insane and it's not even over. They may get 2-3 more days of it.

I won't disagree with the last part.

Maybe it's just weird not hearing 'because....Trump', from the media after the last 9 months lol.

And since the only thing they could say [at this point at least] would be positive, they say nothing about him.
