Actually, an amazing number of guns south of the border come from the USA. Drugs move north of the border, and guns move south of the border.
America is a source of illegal guns throughout the world. If we start regulating guns, there will be some smuggling into the USA, but much less.

Criminals, by definition, do not obey laws.
Yes, and that would increase the price. It is called supply and demand. If there is a decrease in the supply for illegal guns, and an increase in demand by criminals banned from owning guns, that will increase the price. Now criminals tend to be poorer, so that will mean many criminals will have to go without.
An illegal handgun in Japan costs about $100k. No criminal is going to carry around a gun worth $100k. No criminal is going to rob a store for $200 with a $100k gun. Elite hitmen criminals could afford a $100k gun, but how many crimes are really done by elite hitmen criminals?
