Mercedes-Benz CEO: We are convinced the future is electric

They are cheaper than the huge cars you rightys buy. You can get one for about 30 K. The average car price is 48 K. There are many, many EVs under that price point. The range is over 200 miles nowadays. If you drive more than that every day, you need to move. Why do you use insults? Do you think that helps your post?

average car price is meaningless.
you're a green pro-china totalitatatarian fascist.

shut your ass.

It is simple, EVs are better cars and people should get one as soon as possible.

I know where you can get one. My son just sold his one year old EQS series Mercedes and bought and took delivery of a Aidi AS8L TSFI Quattro that runs on GASOLINE. He called and said he was sick of his EV. BTW, He took a terrible hit on the trade.

How do you know? You are last person to know with your extreme far right bias and your lack of knowledge of EV technology.

So I call bullshit.

I have no politics about EVs...that's you. I just view them technically.

I know more about all manner of electronics than you ever will, you frothy mouthed jackass..

Demand for EVs in unquestionably dropping off at this moment; the tech will improve, and it will get better.

As for now; they are just not efficient enough for realistic , daily transportation for most Americans.

Don't forget; we don't just need to get to work; we LOVE TO TAKE LONG DRIVES.

I'd prefer hydrogen...but am willing to wait and see.

60 years from now, we will become a EV nation/ world economy....fight it all you want old people, change is coming to the planet like it or not.

It’s not old people fighting it

It’s Republican idiots who have swallowed what their evil party has served up

Fucking lies

There are millions of electric cars on roads around the world, so some data on the prevalence of fires is emerging. That evidence suggests there is no reason to think that EVs are more likely to go up in flames, several experts have said. Indeed, the opposite appears to be true.
“All the data shows that EVs are just much, much less likely to set on fire than their petrol equivalent,” said Colin Walker, the head of transport at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit thinktank. “The many, many fires that you have for petrol or diesel cars just aren’t reported.”
Fires can start in several ways. Car batteries store energy by moving lithium ions inside a battery cell but if cells are penetrated or if impurities from manufacturing errors cause short-circuits, then unwanted chemical reactions can start “thermal runaway”, where cells heat up rapidly, releasing toxic and flammable gas. In petrol cars, fires can start via electrical faults causing sparks or if the engine overheats because of a fault in the cooling systems, potentially igniting flammable fuel.

In Norway, which has the world’s highest proportion of electric car sales, there are between four and five times more fires in petrol and diesel cars, according to the directorate for social security and emergency preparedness. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency this year found that there were 3.8 fires per 100,000 electric or hybrid cars in 2022, compared with 68 fires per 100,000 cars when taking all fuel types into account. However, the latter figures include arson, making comparisons tricky.

Australia’s Department of Defence funded EV FireSafe to look into the question. It found there was a 0.0012% chance of a passenger electric vehicle battery catching fire, compared with a 0.1% chance for internal combustion engine cars.
Elon Musk’s Tesla is the world’s biggest maker of electric cars. It says the number of fires involving Teslas from 2012 to 2021 was 11 times lower per mile than for petrol or diesel cars on US roads.

EU October car sales up 14.6%, EV sales jump more than 36%

New car sales in the European Union rose 14.6% in October, boosted in part by a big jump in sales of fully electric cars, while hybrid electric vehicles accounted for nearly three of every 10 vehicles sold in the economic bloc.
Sales of fully electric cars rose 36.3% from a year earlier and full hybrid sales were up nearly 39% as the EU recorded its 15th consecutive month of sales growth, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Tuesday.
The ACEA said fully electric cars made up 14.2% of sales in October, overtaking sales of diesel cars for the third time.
As recently as 2015, diesel models accounted for more than 50% of cars sold in the EU, but they accounted for just 12% of sales in October.
For the ten months through October, sales of fully electric cars were up 53.1%.
Electrified vehicles - either fully electric models, plug-in hybrids or full hybrids - accounted for over 47% of all new passenger car registrations in the EU between January and October 2023, up from 42% in the same period last year, the ACEA said.

Volkswagen Group China has begun producing battery systems at a new factory in Hefei, China for its MEB platform EVs in the country.

https://apple.news/AjDyz3Bd8RI-OupBEeUWpIQ

The initial capacity of the plant will be 150,000-180,000 EV packs per year, and marks VW’s first wholly-owned battery manufacturing venture in the country.

The main advantage of cell-to-pack battery systems is energy density, as they can effectively increase the amount of energy per kilogram in an EV battery by double-digit percentages (possibly 20-30%). C2P is also great for lower-cost, lower-density chemistries like LFP (lithium iron phosphate) because it makes achieving sufficient capacity in a given packaging constraint easier. And because C2P construction uses fewer materials and a less complex layout, it also has a strong likelihood of becoming cheaper than contemporary modular construction as it matures and scales.
VW is partnering with Gotion High tech for the underlying cell-to-pack technology for this part of the venture, but there’s no timeline as to when C2P battery designs will start rolling off the line.

Anyone with firing neurons should know EVs are the future. They are also today. They are better, quicker, and cheaper to run and maintain. You should embrace the future.

why don't you see if you can fit more chinese dicks in your mouth?

They've been indoctrinated by Trump and the right wing media that gas is good and everything else is bad.
