Mexico withdraws aid offer to Texas after disasters

Is prescription drug abuse a crime? I highly doubt it, so once again, drugs are drugs, and why are only certain offenses prosecuted?

I never claimed that it was.

But there's this:

If you want to know why "only certain offenses" are prosecuted, study the way laws are proposed and enacted.

Thats a cop out, my dear! If you support criminal sentences for use of drugs, then you should also support and demand the same for anyone who abuses prescription drugs.
They are no different than buying from your local drug dealer. However, you seem to pick and choose which drugs should be prosecuted, so I also assume you pick and choose just who you want to land in jail.

It appears that you neglected to view the Department of Justice document at the link I posted.

I don't recall stating - ever - that I pick and choose which drugs should be prosecuted. That is a construct of your imagination.

What I have said and will repeat for the benefit of those who suffer from libnesia (that's you), is this:

If prescription drug abuse is in fact illegal, and if an abuser is convicted, and if imprisonment is the punishment mandated or allowed by statute and a court imposes it.

That's called the rule of law.

The rule of law does not exclude non-drug related offenses. If the law demands a penalty, and in individual is convicted, they must suffer the consequences.

Do you have an issue with abusing prescription drugs? You know, Rush Limbaugh did too, once.

We should send them all the freshly educated Dreamers. I hear that they are the key to a thriving economy.
Just think, if they have student loans they can default on them without consequence. That would especially be a smart play for a dreamer that took out loans for a liberal arts degree.
