if you run a bussniss out of you house or have hired help you can no longer smoke in there as well

so if you have a cleaning lady, she can complain and you will get fined.

they should just make it illeagle.. but noo wouldnt want to give up them tax $$$

LOL..........

Great post bob...sorry it took so long for a response..I was busy defending from a dog pile...again..story of my life!:cof1:

Nah, he got into it with the two board Buddhists over Burma. He thinks I can't have an opinion unless I go there and smell the carnage.

yeah they are paaaing it county by county here and proposing a new big tax on it. Think I will give up smoking cigs to cut my tax bill.
What about taxing the other tobacco products ? the little cigars 20/pack are only about .50/pack....vs 3.00 for cigs....all in the tax, and the little cigs stink worse and are more unhealthy.

It is a piss poor approach to try to suck out of both ends at the same time.
Tell you to quit smoking and deopending on the tax revenue.

but then I have not seen much very smart come out of our govt in quite a few years...

I guess it's time to quit smoking and fucking up everyone else's breathing space, huh?

Or else, smoke in an isolation chamber so no one else has to breathe your nasty foul second-hand poison.

Or else, if you're that anxious to kill yourself, use a sharp instrument like the Japanese so no one else has to die because you want to

Maybe you believe that "Land of the Free" .. which we have NEVER been .. is somehow interpreted as "I get to poison your children", then that's sad.
This is total rubbish. Carcinogens from smoke attach to the screens, there is no poison transfer. You take this attitude and yet believe that Marijuana should be legal? How many carcinogens are in the smoke of Marijuana?

Maybe you cooking your food and the irritation I get from the smell of it should be banned too....

I can actually have an allergic reaction to just smelling potatoes cook. (Not kidding here folks). Should we make it illegal for you to cook potatoes because they are poison to me?

Or to eat peanuts because there are children who are allergic to them?

This will lead to tax increases in other areas as the rate of smoking drops.

I would love to see all smokers quit for at least one month as a tax protest.

The dangers of second-hand smoke is supported by science, data, and medical evidence .. so much so that even conservative smoke-friendly states aren't challenging that truth.

Cite the science, data, and evidence that says you eating peanuts is dangerous to children who aren't eating them.

Cite the science, data, and evidence that says someone else cooking potatoes is dangerous to you.

If marijuana is legalized there should be just as strict regulations for when one smokes it as there is for cigarettes.

You do not have the right to force others to smell your nasty habit when the science, data, and evidence tells you that it endangers other people. Where does such an idea come from?

Umm we have data that shows childen in high traffic areas suffer from stunted lungs. reduce traffic ofr prohibit livingwithin a certain distance fo a readway.

LOL. I would love to see everybody quit.

Seriously, if it is that bad and it kills others just make it illegal so that you cannot harm others. Because we know from the drug war that if you make it illegal it stops people from doing it...

What are you talking about? Whole schools have become "peanut-free" zones, do you think they do that because it is no danger to those children who have the allergies?

Here is a nice article about allergies and their direct danger:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2006-03-21-allergies_x.htm

And another:

http://www.sptimes.com/News/123001/Travel/Out_of_the_Blue__Pean.shtml

Along with shellfish allergy, peanut allergy is one of the most dangerous. But in most cases, shellfish has to be ingested to cause a reaction. Peanut allergy is unusual in that a person can suffer severe health complications simply by breathing the air from an open bag of peanuts. This is particularly worrisome on airplanes because ventilation systems recirculate cabin air.

An estimated 3-million Americans suffer from this allergy. The symptoms, which can include severe swelling of the throat and mouth, vomiting and loss of consciousness, are referred to as anaphylactic shock. In severe cases it can be deadly.

Last year, 4-year-old Rachel Benway boarded a flight with her mom. According to the Bangor Daily News, Sherry Benway spoke to the unnamed airline on six occasions before the flight to make sure the carrier was aware of her daughter's severe peanut allergy. The airline assured her that peanuts would not be served on the flight. And peanuts were not served.

But the aircraft had not been properly cleaned, Benway said later, and "Peanut particles were everywhere." To make matters worse, passengers were given granola bars that contained peanut oil. Rachel's condition is apparently so severe, she reacts to even the aroma of peanut oil.

While unsuspecting passengers munched on the granola bars, Rachel began to have difficulty breathing. Benway administered antihistamine and epinephrine to counteract the symptoms. Rachel survived, but on the return flight, her mom made adjustments. She passed out her own snacks to nearby passengers, replacing the granola bars in the process.

You never wondered why peanuts disappeared from the airways?

As for my potato allergy, you'll just have to read on allergies in general. There hasn't been a specific study on myself. However food allergies exist and are dangerous.

Does this mean that I should work to get laws to make it so you cannot cook what you want to eat in your own home, if I can possibly smell it and react?

The evidence you cite about peanuts makes my point. Children eating them has been deemed to be harmful to them, thus they've restricted childrens access to peanuts .. but you eating a peanut poses no danger to children who are not eating them. They've reacted to medical evidence, no different than with smoking.

There is a common sense element to this which recognizes that food is essential, smoking is not.

People eating them around children has been proven to be harmful. You didn't read the article and then pretended that you had.

I will post this particular paragraph again:

I will AGAIN bold the part that speaks directly agains what you just said. And then ask you to make a more honest post about it instead of pretending that the part that was inconvenient to your argument didn't exist.

Allergies can be severe and dangerous to others, should we make laws against your consumption, in public, of any product that may cause an allergic reaction to another? And more specifically, shall we make it illegal for you to cook any product that may cause an allergic reaction in another by the airborne particles?

Should you be allowed to boil the potatoes that quite literally take my breath away? (Thank all the little gods for strong anti-allergy medications and epinephrine.)
