Moody's downgrades US credit rating

Again, you try to pretend that both do not spend like drunken politicians. Each successive Presidency outdoes the previous in deficit spending. "It was because he was <insert excuse here>" doesn't cut it.

I have made no argument, at all, that said that republicans were in any way different in this matter, I have simply pointed out that the numbers do not support the claim that the "Democrats" lower the deficits, in fact the numbers show us all that every single modern president deficit spends more than the previous President regardless of the party.
I am not pretending. The graphs show the Repubs are far worse for the debt than Dems. Think about this before answering. Biden had to fix Trump's COVID mess. It took time and money. Obama had to deal with Bush's potential second great depression. It took money to fix that mess. Are you saying you cannot understand that the Dems are fiscally more responsible? Perhaps you cannot understand that. But they are not the same.

Always saying, "they only outspent the republicans because <insert weak excuse>", however the numbers, the actual end result, every single time makes you a liar. The actual facts do not back up your wishes.

No matter how many times you try to wish it away, 7.89 is less than 8.4... Biden out deficit spent his predecessor. The largest difference is between Bush and Obama. You said that they always lower the deficit... You literally said "always" and then when proved incorrect you simply try to play with statistics even though you know the facts simply do not reflect what you want them to reflect.

The numbers are not lying. Each and every President in this century has increased deficit spending. Read this last bit slowly, so even you will understand it. Every. Single. President. Since. Clinton. Has. Increased. The. Deficit. Spending. And. Spent. More. In. The. Red. Than. His. Predecessor.

The only reason Clinton went down was because Newt Gingrich outfoxed him.

I'll also note that it is the Congress that actually spends the money, the Presidents have just convinced their Congress to spend more. When it got "less" under Obama, it was because Republicans had taken over the Congress and the purse strings in the House. You know what.. Republicans controlled the House in Biden's too...

Anyway...

To rehash...

1. No Democrat President in the modern era has lowered deficit spending when compared with his predecessor's term during his term in office. No republican has either.
2. You lied.
3. Congress, specifically the House, controls the purse strings.

You are confusing debt with deficit. They have all increased the debt, but Presidents like Obama and Clinton have clearly decreased the deficit.
No, I am not. I am literally adding up the deficit for each of their years and coming up with a total. Obama did not decrease the deficit. lol. Bush's deficit spending was 400 Billion per year until his last year when he passed emergency spending after the economic collapse, to which, Obama added more after he took office. Averaging 400 Billion is less than the 993 Billion that Obama Averaged. While he did drop the deficit from the emergency numbers down to 685 Billion in his last year, he spent more in deficit spending than his predecessor. Trump spent more on average than his Predecessor in his first term, Biden spent more than Trump during his one term, Trump is poised to increase the deficit spending during his term, if the tax cuts do not increase revenue.

And again, Congress has the purse strings. The only reason it went down during his last four years, as opposed to the spending he proposed, was because he had to deal with the House which was controlled by Republicans during those last four years (2013 - 2017).

The facts simply do not match up to reality. You are simply... and I say this with kindness... wrong. Entirely and completely incapable of Mathematics...

I'll explain it to you this way....

When the president spends bigger numbers in deficit, it means that the president is spending more....

However, no matter how many times we blame the President, it is the House that controls all spending.

Bush projected the budget deficit to be $407 billion. It was $1.1 trillion. When Obama took office, he added $300 billion, which made $1.4 trillion. So Obama took a budget deficit of $1.1 trillion when he took office, and turned it into a deficit of $503 billion. trump immediately increased the deficit when he took office, even though there was not an emergency like Obama started with.

Clinton took a deficit of $290 billion and turned it into a surplus of $236 billion. The people who have the debt clock had to shut it down, because the debt was decreasing.

One hundred percent correct.

Under current law, the President must develop and submit a consolidated budget to Congress no later than the first Monday in February prior to the start of the upcoming fiscal year..

After negotiations with the Senate, the House appropriates the funding for the budget.

The final budget bill may not look anything like what was proposed by the president.
