More Bad News for the (R)s

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Since January, Americans' party preferences have shifted dramatically in the Democratic Party's direction. What had been a two-percentage-point Republican advantage in U.S. party identification and leaning has become an 11-point Democratic advantage, with more of that movement reflecting a loss in Republican identification and leaning (down eight points) than a gain in Democratic identification and leaning (up five points).

...

The party last held an advantage of 10 points or more in January 2019 (51% to 39%), when Democrats were installed as the majority party in the House of Representatives after their success in the 2018 midterm elections. Democrats and Democratic leaners also outnumbered Republicans and Republican leaners by 10 points or more in several months in 2018, including in October (51% to 41%) just before those elections.

Hopefully #TRE45ON's toadies are hiding this dire news from the Snowflake-in-Chief. If not they'll be changing his Depends a lot more often.

A shift in political power in this country is way over due.

Agreed. Traditionally the (R)s throw us all in the crapper when they're the majority and have the WH. It's going to take us a lot more work this time to save the country. One of the Biden ads we're seeing here on TV says "We're in a fight for the very soul of this nation." He is so right.

Trump fired his campaign manager....as if the campaign manager was responsible for Trump looking like an idiot in handling the COVID crisis.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/15/politics/trump-campaign-manager-demoted/index.html
President Donald Trump shook up his campaign leadership on Wednesday, announcing he was promoting Bill Stepien to be his campaign manager and demoting Brad Parscale, who had been serving in that role.

The announcement comes on the same day that two national polls showed the President trailing presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden by double digits.

Here's an interesting article which states that Trump really doesn't have anything viable to campaign on.

A new Trump ad shows why his re-election campaign is such a disaster

Which goes to prove that spouting bullshit long enough will cost a person an election.

I liked this part of the link:
At one point, the ad claims Biden supports “cutting police funding,” by quoting a short snippet of an interview in which Biden said “Yes, absolutely.” In reality, Biden’s response came to the question: “But do we agree that we can redirect some of the [police’s] funding?” That’s hardly a radical idea. And the fact that the Trump ad clearly cut off the question Biden was answering showed it was afraid of letting viewers hear the true context. In other statements, Biden has distanced himself from the “Defund the Police” slogan.

Yeah, that'll pull the campaign right out of the sewer pipe.

From the ad:

“Violent crime exploding. Innocent children fatally shot,” the narrator said, with recent news stories cited on the bottom of the screen."

Really? #TRE45ON did absolutely NOTHING about school massacres, yet now we're supposed to believe that he gives a shit about "innocent children fatally shot"? Bwahahahahaha! His supporters are just that stupid and gullible, but the rest of us are not.

I watched the whole clip, btw. It was all bashing Biden, but nothing about what the Toadstool can do to fix all these ongoing problems. Problems which, as the article points out, are happening now, on his watch.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

I know several people who have changed their party affiliation so they could vote for Dems in the primaries.

It's just another of Trump's failings. When he was just a "businessman", he could cover up his mistakes with money...usually someone else's money. As a politician, he can't just pay people to forget about it.

A good leader knows they are responsible for their own actions. Trump is a shitty leader, and I'm being generous even to hint he has leadership skills, as proved by his constant denial of responsibility. He's the first to take credit when things are good and the first to pass blame when things are bad. This bit with his campaign manager is just another in Trump's long series of leadership failures.

Such people should never be trusted with anything valuable or underaged. That's given they actually switched parties just to undermine the Constitution. Some might say they did just to give their LW friends a thrill. :)

Trump still denies knowing the Russians were paying for Afghans to kill US soldiers.

The list of things Trump denies and the list of stuff he claims is true are astounding.

I liked Reagan but in his second term he should have bowed out due to his dementia. While it was only suspected at the time, after he was out of office it was eventually revealed he had dementia. I suspect Trump will eventually be isolated by family like "Mommy" did Reagan to hide the reality of mental illness.

What would be ironic is if Trump's care was put into Mary Trump's hands because everyone else is too busy spending money. They could give Mary $10-20M just to put up with Trump so no one else has to do it.

I am beginning to think Trump is not mentally competent.

Words to keep in mind, now more than ever, folks:

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE AN OPPONENT!

Let's not celebrate before crossing the goal line.

He isn't. The only thing stopping him from doing something supremely stupid is the fact the Founders were wise in how the Federal government was set up. Something people who think more power belongs in the hands of the Feds should consider.

I think we have given too much power to the office of President.
