I wouldn't worry about getting white men on the list. When the result of the list is a government insisting on helping you, the last thing you want is on their list.
I know what it means. I was being facetious. As in you really do NOT want the government's "assistance" as a protected class. Trust me, I know.Wrong. In this case it just means equal protection under the law.

"Protected classes" is the antithesis of equal treatment under the law. We have the Constitution which (supposedly) forbids treating people differently according to race, creed or gender. We have other laws which forbid employment discrimination. That should be good enough - why start naming races? When we have these kinds of laws we are literally requiring racial discrimination in hiring practices. Then the idiots piss and moan about why we, as a culture, cannot seem to get past racism?
White men are protected under anti-discrimination legislation. Title VII includes race (not black, pacific islander etc.) and sex (not female) among the classifications that employers may not use to discriminate against employees or prospective employees.
With respect to affirmative action, you are correct that white males are not included among those classes eligible for affirmative action consideration. By including white males you pretty much eviscerate the purpose of AA, which I suppose is the point. But why dress it up this way. Just argue against AA. There are plenty of good arguments against it.
