MSNBC’s Touré: Romney Engaging In The “Niggerization” Of Obama By Calling Him Angry –

I think the phrase 'code words' is being misinterpreted. It should really include the use of collocates. You have all played that game where you complete a well known phrase or saying.
So if I say, for instance, 'GAS' you might complete it with 'STATION' or 'PUMP' or 'BAG' etc. Now, when we read and particularly when we listen we are pre-guessing the next word or words. So if I say, in a speech '.....gas..' you will preguess one of those words I have listed. You think of 'PUMP' with a secondary guess of 'PRICES'. I say Gas pump prices' and you immediately identify with me because we are 'the same'. Now no one will ever complain that the price of petrol is too low! In my next speech I might simply say, '...now look at gas....' and you complete it as above. But I can honestly say that I didn't talk about the rising cost of petrol, nor that it was the fault of corporate greed, but because 'we are the same' you know.
The same applies to our prejudices to the extent that the pronoun 'THEY' can indicate a racist attitude and no intent whatsover to turn 'THEY' into 'US'.
Politicians' speech writers know this (many politicians are too dumb to ask why) but most of the electorate is oblivious and occasionally, just occasionally might ask themselves, 'Why do I think that?'
The answer is simple and it applies to all parties and all faiths:
I think that because someone has TOLD ME TO THINK THAT!
If you want to fight for freedoms in America fight first for FREE WILL.

Many millions and possibly billions or more have been spent trying to create subliminal messaging. On the average human level it goes completely unnoticed but the message remains. I had heard about the popcorn and candy subliminals in theaters for years but the one that stuck out most clearly was when Ronald Reagan announced his run for the Presidency in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Although I would never accept or even consider that RR was a racist, that particular site for his announcement was red meat for the southern white voters that considered themselves "conservative" or Republican. Even in 1980 I had no idea what either of those words meant anymore. They sure as hell didn't mean what they meant during the Eisenhower Presidency.

Thinking back now and considering the landslide victory of RR in 1980 he certainly didn't need to lower himself to that level to attract a few racist votes from the south. Although I continue to like RR for many reasons I could never respect him again for that single action. So much for subliminal messaging.

ObamaOsamaRomney is like Uncle Tom or Nat Turner. He is the shame and pride of his people and their masters and their slaves and their peopole and their masters and their slaves. did you smell that one?

Are you here to take a shit on all threads or do you actually have something to say?

Ahhhhhh, I think I get it....Follow along now....If I say, "Dishonest, Conceited, Smug, Pompus --------, Someone may insert Lowaicue in there to complete that descriptor....Thanks for clearing that up....;)

It does not matter why they took up an idea. Your argument is obviously an ad hom. Was Frederick Douglass trying to hurt black people?

You are part of the problem. You don't know their intentions. When you pretend you do, you do harm to your own argument. You make others defend not the idea but all the people who hold the idea. That just creates more and more animosity. Ad homs are no good, no use and counterproductive. Been there, done that, bought the tshirt and I might start selling them.

It took you a while, but you got there in the end. Next time you find something of mine difficult just let me know, I use short words.

Since the 2008 campaign, the neocon/teabagger driven GOP and it's punditry has been has been putting forth insinuations, allegations, accusations and various suppositions and conjectures as to Obama being a "true" American that understands the American mindset. "messiah", "magic negro" and other labels have been context in a slew of condescending editorials and internet videos from the established and fringe political right wing. And when they are called on it, they act as if butter wouldn't melt in their mouths.

Well, they can deny it all they want, but by the glory of the internet the average American can produce the actual quote and say, "C'mon man, YOU said it! You meant it! Don't piss on my intelligence and call it lemonade".

Testify!!!!!!! That is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!!!!!!!!!!

Are you here to take a shit on all threads or do you actually have something to say?

Fictional Uncle Tom busts his ass to keep his family safe and together and he is made a traitor to his people for it. Nat Turner blew up and became a monster. There is no middle ground you can take that would satisfy them. There is some reason to dismiss your choices, not just criticize, as a possible option. These two bogeyman will keep you still and keep you dancing at the same time. Fight back but don't fight back. Cooperate but don't cooperate. Submit, that is the real message.

They leave you with no possible guide for dealing with two imperfect choices. Life is a series of imperfect choices. The poor are surrounded by disruptive and out of control individuals that they are supposed to fear and rely on at the same time. How do they navigate those dark labyrinths? The kids who have not constantly been faced with two really bad options will tell you how they think they would handle such dilemma's based on something they saw in a movie and will pretend their claim is some sort of moral virtue. Hell, they will tell jurist to consider fictional accounts (they just killed a man Texas based on how well Lenny understood his actions). Poor John Steinbeck whose primary message was not socialism, but compassion and empathy for others.

We don't teach our children how to think. We teach them to fear difference and to punish anybody who takes bold actions. You will never make it out of the sewer without bold actions. They are always ready to come down on the poor with both feet as soon as you make a mistake that they can get the mob excited about. The poorer you are the harder it hits because your parents cannot protect you and your neighbors are certain all the problems are coming from those kids over there (not theirs).

I am tired of seeing poor kids getting their shit stomped in before they even get a chance, while the rich kids get away with murder. We are all for tough love for the criminals until it is one of ours. These ideas of perfection keep the poor down.

This Angry Black Man
I heard something today, and I'm still trying to process it and collect my thoughts, so forgive me if I stumble or step on a few toes. People say a lot of crazy things, and I usually don't let it anger me. Joe Biden's "back in chains" gaffe hit a nerve, but it didn't anger me. Obama's campaign has been on the hateful side and Mitt Romney responded to that by telling him to "take his campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.” Everyone knows what Chicago politics are, so it's not that hard to comprehend the context. Unfortunately for Mitt, some people are just slow. MSNBC has a show called "The Cycle" which hosts three liberals and a conservative, one of those liberals being a black man named Touré. No last name, just Touré. He responded to Mitt's comment with:
That really bothered me. You notice he said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the "otherization," he’s not like us...I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is "niggerization." You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who we’ve been trained to fear.
I've never been called a nigger (by a white person) to my face, but my mom shared a story with me about her when she was young and she ran into the KKK. She was by herself and he was a ways away, but not so far she couldn't see the noose he was waving in his hands. For Touré to use "nigger" in whatever form is to equate Mitt Romney to that man my Mama saw. I don't know if Touré is just young and ignorant or if he himself is just an "angry black man," but for him to throw "nigger" around more than angers me; it pisses me off. That is a heavy word, like a loaded gun. While it's value is negative, it does have value. Nigger comes from three hundred years of slavery, decades of Jim Crow, and my Mama alone with a ghost. Nigger comes from my biracial aunt who had trouble making friends. It comes from Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and death to the easy to google image of Emmett Till's dead body. Many black liberals jump at the chance to tell me I don't know my roots, but Touré, intelligent black man, can't see the sickness in his mentality, digging for hate and racism where there is none because he himself is an angry black man who obviously doesn't know where he comes from.

Touré's use of the word "niggerization" is cheap. It's bad enough young black kids throw it around like people didn't die hearing that word, but he's a grown man and he should know better. It waters down the meaning of hate and racism, and it cheapens the struggle and fight of black men and women who came before him. It shows his own hatred and ignorance. Obama's campaign is angry, there's no denying that. Touré has an issue with anyone who would dare criticize Obama and call him what he is. The black community has it's share of problems, and Touré is the personification of the deep root of those problems. It's sad Touré has a platform where his ignorant and hateful rhetoric can be heard, but maybe there is a positive spin. If anything, Touré should an example for our young black men and women on how not to conduct themselves.

1. A "true" American would be a citizen whom we can verify and confirm, was born in America. Since we do not have this evidence with Obama, it is a legitimate question, and if you don't like the question or if the question is a problem it can all be remedied by Obama releasing the long-form of his actual birth certificate.

2. "Messiah" has routinely been used to describe Obama by people on message boards and forums, in blogs and such, but I don't recall a major political figure ever using this word to describe Obama. Hardly a pejorative word, it is used to signify the Messianic nature of his followers, more than a statement about him.

3. Barack the Magic Negro finds its origin with a left-wing liberal columnist, writing for the LA Times. Does butter melt in his mouth????

'Savvy' is a 25-year-old conservative dumbass. I'll bet Toure 'really bothered' Allen West and Herman Cain, too.

:rofl2:

And just for the fucking record, ButtJuice... "Plantation" isn't a code word for anything, it means just exactly as implied... the Democrat Plantation, where black Democrats are shackled and whipped into submission by their Democrat mastahs. Throw a few blankets out in the dirt floor shack and keep them happy! If they step out of line and become too 'uppity' they have to be publicly humiliated and scorned, given a good lashing in front of the others to teach them a lesson! No code here, ButtJuice... I mean it just as it is implied. I don't speak in code, I have always said exactly what I mean.

'Plantation', as well as the patois in which you mock anything expressed by your perceived opposition that acknowledges or refuses to deny the significance of race in any discussion, reveals the boilerplate ideology of the Bigot Party known as the GOP. You're the poster child for it. You speak in code and you don't even know it; that's how indoctrinated you are to their idiocy. Accept it.

Edit: Your post (above) is a perfect example as well. Dirt floors? mastahs? 'uppity'? Lashing?

Make no mistake, we know exactly what you and the rest of the Bigot Party means.

OMFG, AT THE IRONY HERE! :whoa:

How many "code" words can we find in your little rant? Patios? Mock? Perceived? Significance? Significance of race? Boilerplate? Boilerplate ideology? The "Bigot Party known as the GOP" (which stands for Government of the People)? Poster child?

Why don't you do some explaining as to what all these 'code words' mean, hypocrite?

None of my words are code, but your entire post about blankets, dirt floors and lashing is a sea of code. Consult your playbook or email Karl Rove, he'll walk you through it.
