My plan for slavery restitution.

Actually very few of the slaves by the end of the Civil War had any direct ties to Africa. The last slave imported into the United States was in 1808. There were approximately 600,000 slaves imported into North America between 1620 and 1808. Over half were imported before there was a United States so a large percentage should look to England and the Middle East for reparations. Most slaves were imported into Central and South America and the Caribbean Islands in the same time period, over 5 million of them.

'Right of Return'.

'Right of Return'.

The right of return is a principle in international law which guarantees everyone's right of voluntary return to or re-enter their country of origin or of citizenship.

"African Americans" country of origin, as individuals, is the United States. They are citizens of the US, not any country in Africa. This would not apply. My grandparents were from Sicily. I cannot claim Right of Return to Sicily for the same reasons.

Some blacks are complaining. A free passage and a grub stake in Africa might make them 'whole'.

"The Back-to-Africa movement, in the nineteenth century called Black Zionism[citation needed][when?] or the colonization movement, encouraged Americans of African ancestry to return to Africa—not to their original homelands, which in most cases were unknown, but to the continent. In general the movement was an overwhelming failure; very few freed slaves wanted to move to Africa, and the small number that did—some under duress—initially faced brutal conditions. As the failure became known in the United States in the 1820s, it spawned and energized the abolitionist movement. Liberia became an independent black country, along with Haiti and Sierra Leone the only countries founded by former slaves. U.S. Ambassador to Liberia was a coveted position. In the twentieth century Marcus Garvey, Rastafarians, and some other African Americans espoused the concept, but few actually left the United States."

Number 1 AND 2 stupidest questions of the day!

No wonder you’re the Stupidest Motherfucker on the Forum

:rofl2:

Oh. So just like everything you say, you have nothing to back it up. Only little faggy emoticons and repeating yourself.

The difference is that reparations were given to Japanese-Americans who were actually in the camps. We didn't give reparations to Japanese-Americans because the government wronged their ancestors.

Aha you just caught on to the reason for this thread. It was a red herring.

The government didn't own slaves citizens did so the country is under no obligation to pay reparations.

I totally support reparations for slavery if the person filing for restitution can prove the following.

1. They are citizens of the United States.
2. They have ancestors who were slaves in America.
3. They have been impacted either emotionally, physically or economically by the fact that they had ancestors who were American slaves.
4. And lastly the people paying the restitution had ancestors that were slave owners.

Proof meaning documented information supporting their claim.

Considering how many black kids dont know who their fathers were that will mak #2 a high bar.
And considering slavery was ended 155 years ago thats 5-8 genations ago give or take so #3 will be impossible to demonstrate.
Time to accept that being black is nothing more than melanin and what you make of yourself is up to you.

The vestiges of slavery continue.

400 years of slavery doesn’t get corrected in a few decades.

Blacks were shut out of the ballot box until the mid 60s. That effort is being tried again today.

The military was segregated until 1948.

The 1966 NCAA basketball champions were denied accommodations many times.

Texas football was still all-white in 1969.

Inter-racial marriages were banned up until the 60s. Alabama was the last to legalize it in 2000.

how nice, a southern cracka telling us about what slavery reparations should be :palm:

I think every black person in this country should get $100,000 from the Democrat Party since they were the ones who institutionalized slavery and then fought a war against the GOP when they moved to stop it.
