MySpace Finds 29,000 Sex Offenders


Were most Republicans? Do Foley and Haggard have myspace profiles?
 
It's just a crappy site in general.

It is filled with pages of stupid and juvenile messages sent for public display on your "friends" site. The pages are covered with crappy clipart.

It reminds one of how, as high school students, many stuck gaudy stickers on their Trapper Keeper, or other binder, and covered each other's with nonsense messages.

I know many use the site more effectively for communication, but WasteOfWebSpace has got to be the worst of Web 2.0.

Oh yeah, it's really immature too. People have given me their myspace page as if it was something. "Oh here's my mypage address". Ok. Whatever.

Niow if they and others would only differentiate between actual sex offenders and those who the powers that be disagree with as to morality. they might have something.

Kids just don't think that the whole world can see what they put on there. Hence the ease for predators. I understand there is now some protection you can put up so that only "friends" can see your full site. This 22 year old dude just joined our office and he has a myspace and facebook page. Those sites are a trip.

The article I read earlier today identified those people as "registered sex offenders". Pretty chilling, isn't it!

Yes, I have a friend (yes I said Friend) who is a registered sex opffender. I also know all his kids, grand kids, and their friends. and they all know the circumstances.


If you are drunk and urinate in public you can be a regustered sex offender.

(not what happened in this case)

That's really over the top! There has to be a classification system (could we ever expect that it might be drawn up officially by anyone with any sense?) that wouldn't include such trivial acts. There also should be a provision for attrition -- if after x number of years the person has committed no further offenses then his name should be expunged from the list, etc.

Including such people in this classification serves nobody's interests.

While working in Child Porn as a investigator...I could not count the times offenders said 'hey I was just taking a pee'...right in front of kids...Uh Huh..try another apology!

It tis on my resume...no mountain was too hard to climb for me...and sorry my IQ was tested at 137..yours just dropped to about 96...dull normal!
