And the data shows clearly that Trump Red States are overwhelmingly welfare States that would suffer and go bankrupt without the welfare they get from Blue States.

You always say this, but there's no reason for it.
If the red and blue states divided politically, ie, stopped trying to write each other's laws and tax codes, there is absolutely no reason it would have to impact commerce.
Cities still have to buy food to survive. Farms still have to sell it to survive.

If we're not imposing our values on one another, we should actually get along better.

And if we don't want to get along better--if we want to fight regardless--then fuck it.
Let's have our nuclear holocaust right now because there's nothing to lose anyway.
People with low standards aren't the ones who should be deciding what is and isn't worth it.

How did we get to the point where having class and standards doesn't matter anymore?

no, nifty has a point. There would be few impediments to a peaceable split, even if it left the flyover states surrounded. Commerce between the nations would be the one unifying spot. we keep each other prosperous and could live life according to desired standards.
