Naxi to Jew is like Southerner to Slave

I was doing some research and found that the British passed the Abolition of Slavery Act in 1833. It ordered the "gradual" abolition of slavery in all British colonies. The best part was that plantation owners in the West Indies received 20 million pounds in compensation. Lmfao

How is this connected? It is an interesting time when British ordered slaves freed and how that affected the black people in the Bahamas. Many were instantly freed and set out on their own, broke, uneducated and a family that has never known anything but slavery for generations. They were simply released and told to fend for themselves. Read, Wind from Carolina.

I can see differences, but I do not see how time affects how evil they were.

The Southerners have been celebrating for 160 years. They have never shown shame.

What's the difference? The difference is absolutely essential

So you want to punish people who you believe aren't sufficiently contrite?

May I ask you another question? This may be a good thread topic but let ask you, when will slavery cease to be the root of the problem for blacks in America?

I didt say it was connected I just thought it was fascinating. Maybe the southern states should have been compensated. LMFAO

Hey let's play a game. Let's assume we somehow are able to reach a number acceptable to blacks for reparations. Millions billion. Trillions quadrillions every black is given reparations. Then what?

Lets discuss this, what was worse, the system that allowed Slavery or the system that tried to exterminate the Jews?

What was more worthy of a war?

What had more lasting effects?

Both bad, like choosing which is the worse death, being eaten by a snake or thrown into a rattle snake pit

And both have had lasting effects, although suppose one could say hatred of Jews isn’t as entrenched as it was centuries ago, still present, but not as influential, but the lingering effects of slavery still plague America.

And from reading the prior posts, I know slavery ended in 1865, however it then went from slavery to segregation to what I would call today post segregation, still exist, but not as overtly

Here's a quote from Frederick Douglass you known him right ?

"Everyone has asked the question..."What shall we do with the Negro?" I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for fastening them on the tree in anyway, except by nature's plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand in his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!"

I will try to treat you like a thinking adult, give us the best example of the "lingering effects" of slavery that still "plagues" America. Be specific.

There may be some disagreement about hatred for Jews

Another poster said there is "lingering effects" of slavery that still "plague" America. You might even agree. I think I might too after reading this

This one too. I'm especially led to believe in the "lingering effects" where it shows black mayors being elected in non black majority cities

I did not say anything about punishment. You are imagining persecution again.

I do not think that is possible.

Let’s do the Bruce Breach thing all over the nation

Give back all land illegally taken from actual Black Families to their living relatives

Then give tax cuts to families that can verify slave descendency

I agree, give him a chance to stand on his own legs. In our interdependent society we have to be focused to make sure we allow them the opportunities and do not let custom and tradition prevent progress. Having an uneducated and poor father makes the likelihood (not the certainty) of you being poor and uneducated much greater. If you come from a long line of uneducated and poor people, something has to break that inertia.

Without some intervention, Donald Trumps kids will not be poor for generations, hundreds of years regardless of their merit, the opposite is true.

I will try to treat you like a thinking adult, give us the best example of the "lingering effects" of slavery that still "plagues" America. Be specific.

Lack of generational education.
Lack of generational wealth.
Lingering distrust of the majority.
Angry portions of the majority race.
Assumptions about one race by people in power. (police)
Being one generation away from many employers refusing jobs.

One very specific example... When I was in College, 1990's, black students were not allowed in white fraternities. Fraternities are more than just party houses, they are also a mutual cooperation association. If a frat brother can help you get a job, he will.

Another example... When I was a kid in the 80's black people were not allowed to be members of the most prominent social clubs in Tampa. The Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club did not allow black members. This was not just a club for people who liked Golf, these people did business together, often exclusively, if you wanted to do anything big or that required money in Tampa, you needed to belong. My father hated the Club, but he had an architecture firm and 6 kids to feed, if he wanted the big jobs in Tampa he had to be a member.

Yes, things are changing, but black people MY AGE grew up when their parents were not allowed equal access to the wealth of their communities. Yes, there were exceptions, but the community standards were that they were not allowed.

This affects kids, and their kids and it lessens generation by generation, but its not gone yet.

https://www.pcgc.org/ This is where I grew up, and where I made my lifelong friends. Its where I get much of my business today.

America is improving, but when this is not a remarkable think... we will be better off. Government is way ahead of private enterprise, and the wealth of our society is in private enterprise.

i would say that the Holocaust was worse, for the simple reason that the end goal was to experiment on them and exterminate them.

The goal of slavery was to have no-cost labor on the farms and fields. A wholesale killing of slaves, on a similar scale as the killing of Jews, would not have served the needs of the Confederacy at all...

How many members Ye Mystic Crew do you think have been black?

If you want to do business in Tampa.... you had to be a pirate.

https://ymkg.com/

IN 1990, Gasparilla was cancelled in 1990 because the NFL refused to pull the Super Bowl if the Crew did not allow black members.

Instead of allowing black members they cancelled the entire signature event of Tampa, Gasparilla.

Do you think blacks were given equal opportunity in Tampa in 1990?

At the time Tampa had a Jewish mayor... She herself was not allowed in the crew.
